My tattoo ideas

So I have been very secretive with my friends about my ideas for my new tat. It will be a 3/4 sleeve on my right arm. I know WHAT I want but NO idea how to have it arranged. I'm meeting with the artist in 2 weeks, when I do I want to go in there confident, knowing what I want and how I want it. Now these pictures are just for an idea, I won't be copying art.

The first picture is Hel from Norse mythology. According to the myths, half of her body is dead and decaying (as in the 3rd pic). I prefer the first picture as a basis on how I want to portray her in my tattoo. I want to show how beautiful she is along with her snake (which is usually on that skull-mase she is holding) I want the background to resemble the second picture, Starry Night.

My question is how should she be placed, how big should she be? Should I add more or just scrap the entire idea? I have 3 other tats, but this would be the biggest (and most seen) by far. I guess I'm getting nervous.

This is a really personal thing, you really gotto look around - Check different artists journals to see points that you really like that bring your inspiration and "feeling" out and then go with it ;)

Good luck babe!

Im a tattooist, the only technical problem I see is the Starry Night background.....That might not hold up well over time, it could just turn into a blob of colors after some time if the artist isnt very talented. Even if talented, not sure how tattooable Starry Night is, main concern is over time especially with the white.

Not my cup of tea tattoo wise, but I dig the Norse woman, she's gonna have to be pretty big with all that detail.......

starry night is a bitch to tattoo on people and most artists wont do it, but im sure if you go to your aritist ifhes a good one, he'll be able to sit with you and talk and get an idea of what you want and work it all in im sure he could do something LIKE starry night but not the same as it .

I've already talked to the artist and I've actually seen pics of 2 starry night tats he's done. I don't want it to BE starry night, just the main idea of it. I want Hel to be front and center, also being the main focus of the tat.

Thank you for your insight.

should make for a pretty cool tattoo. when it comes to tattoos i say no regrets, just go for it...but somethin that big, just make sure you're 100% happy with the design first. ive been wanting another one (have 2 now) for a long time, just have no clue what to get.

the best thing to do is search the internet for hours looking a pics, save all your favourite ones and then when your finished looking. looking throught all the ones you saved, then pick your best say 5-6 then delete the rest. print off the 5-6 you saved, cut your favourite piece off each tattoo, jigsaw all the piece you cut out back together to make your own tattoo.
