If ur lookin for cheap-ish gear, amazon will prolly be ur best bet...if u decide the 600w is the way u wanna go u will need a good inline fan system (400+cfm) to cool ur light and scrub the air.. plus a small one for circulation!

Agree with BazookaJoe but if you can buy buying at your local grow shop will help the small business and help you but can make friends or good business relationships to where you can even maybe open accounts where you get product and make payments. That would be my two cents on it plus you don't have to wait for some broken item or any of the other hassle but if your ok with it I am ok with it  Last but not least if the product is defective or anything like that you don't have to wait forever to get a replacement I just believe there is more benefit going local then cheap in mail but the choice is yours hope my input helped. {P.s.} most shops local if they are cool people will have clearances and do deal's with many items being bought at one time usually scrape off some money on each item that way.

Woohoooo, in the next couple of weeks, I'll have a very well equipped grow space with both veg area and flowering space, with the bells and whistles that are called for. Yes to the fan and thermometer, etc,. :D

Man I am terrible.. have not participated with this. First, sorry for the seedling loss, I have been battling ph lock out for a week now... Miracle Grow soil bytes LOL.. takes longer to correct things since it is not a good idea to flush. I hear ya on the upgrade.. I, myself , have upgraded to a 4 x 4 x 6.5 tent with a 600 watt dimmable ballast with a 6" Air Cooled hood.. so it looks like we are kind of staying in sync in aspect of a now veg room and flower room. I would recommend a PH meter and a TDS meter to assist with your grows. I have the PH meter, which help solve my lock out issue and a TDS meter on it's way (make sure that I am feeding at optimal levels) Both were around 20 dollars.. but well worth it in helping solve problems. I will be watching for sure from here on out. I took down my pics since I was not sure if my camera is using GPS settings (this could put coordinates on your pics) but today I used paint shop pro and it does not show any gps data.. so when good seeds come in, I just might start a journal... Isn't this fun and addictive?? :)

Nice that will do the job but I do have one concern just a booster fan you might want to get a inline fan like a hurricane or another one you would like. I say this because I did have heat issues with my 600w but a cool tube or cooled hood brought my temps down right where I wanted it. It is getting winter time with colder weather so that might not be issue till summer time either way sounds like your girls will be happy!

Ok so I keep the booster fan as an intake which means I now need an inline fan that's stronger to get rid of heat, damn this is getting expensive fast. Of course, I'll get one, just hoping to find one on the cheap, maybe second hand on Kijiji or something.

I just bought: '6" Duct Blower Centrifugal Inline Exhaust Fan 206 CFM,GYO2401' by Ledwholesalers

It cost more but not much choice if I want to be successful with this. I'll return the booster fan when it arrives. :)

Are you going to have the intake getting fresh air from out side ?
Really important to have fresh air in your grow room , as for the
exhaust your not obligated to have it blowing straight outside .
If it's winter where you are living you can simply have it air scrubbed
and flow into your basement ( cheaper to heat the house ) .
I don't think you will have humidity problems with such small room.

No, cannot get air from outdoors, it's too cold right now, winter is at our doorsteps. Sending the hot air down to the basement isn't practical either as the room is located on the second floor of our house so I'll probably just send it out from under the door of that room and directly out into the second floor hallway.Humidity should be easy enough to control. I would have built the grow space in our basement but it already serves as my studio. Woohoooo, just received confirmation that my HPS lights system as well as the carbon filter and fans have been shipped ... I should get everything by the 16th +-.

Yep yep, really looking forward to actually do the growing for sure. This coming week is going to be a busy one, I still have some work to do on the grow space itself to make it stronger and ready for the light system and fans, I have 4 feminized Headband seeds and my sister will give me some seeds she found and I'll give them a go and see if they grow to be females or males ( will get rid if males ).

I started building the space which measures 8ft L x 6ft H x 6ft W using 2" x 4"'s and cardboard and will finish the interior of it in mylar. It's in a small bedroom which is about 11 feet by 10 feet.

Going out today to buy a bit more lumber to finish the grow space, I still need to install some vertical posts to make it sturdier. Then I will place most of the mylar and all that will be left to do is install the light system when it gets here ( hopefully by end of coming week ).
