Thanks for the post! The cabinet that I found at HD matches your diminsions too (http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xj7/R-100576023/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053.) My project is still in the planning phase so it is good to see somebody I might be able to copy off of :). Did your cabinet have that crappy particle board on the back? If so what did you do to replace it, if at all?

Hey Bud!

Good luck with your project!

Yes, I had a 2 piece particle Board for the back. I kept it and used it for the back. I was initially concerned as I needed to drill out 2 x 6" Holes for the 2 Fans and 1 2" hole for the cable to plug into the wall.

So far, looks amazing! Going to finish up the door tonight. I still need to get fan Guards with Light dampeners (Light really shines through those holes in the back.

I'll continue to take pics and post them.

How do you plan on fixing the light leak? I have several ideas if you need one, but it looks like you have things under control. It looks like you have a great place to start growing.

Also, if you end up with 3 or 4 plants, you will want to find a more maneuverable way to hang those CFLs, or make sure the canopy is full and even. The whole key with CFLs, it seems, it to get them as close as possible. I have not accomplished this and have switched up to HPS so likely never will, but this is what I have observed from many successful CFL grows.

Good luck! Keep us updated!

EDIT: Nevermind I just noticed what looks like a screen, so that will keep the canopy nice and even for max output and even light exposure. Definitely kep us updated on this one!

dukeofbaja: Aside from Aluminum foil tape (Used to strengthen the seal of the particle board) I also attached Panda Film to the back. No light cracks at all now (Aside from the circles I drilled out for the 2 fans). The outlet hole was easily taken care of with Aluminum foil tape.

I finished the Door part last night.. I again used Panda Film at 6 Foot in length by 1 1/2 foot in width. Overlapped the 2 by about 4 inches. I'll put up a pic tonight when I get home from the office.

Here's a Mock up of what I have done.

PS: Seeds are well germinated; will start Veg tonight when I get home and will document through the process.

One other thing I need to get done; The screws I used to secure the Fans are about 5" too long.. lol.... Need to get smaller screws and I will also order Fan Guards with light Filters. (What little light the filters will get rid of is good) :>

Scents: Not too concerned about the known strain that I am working with "Blue Mystic", but the 2 mystery seeds may result in some smelly plants.

My Wife was knocked off her socks when she saw the finished (Aside from the noted touches mentioned above) wardrobe. (She was impressed! :> ) Her concern was directly related to visual awkwardness; hence a carbon Filter in the back would be no good.

I might Opt for some Rear (External) Stick on Air Fresheners close to the vent fan. (Coupled with some Automatic Air Freshers around the room. i.e. Every hour or so have it activate).

What Suggestions did you have re: the Light Leaks out back? I can build a Light Trap but that would take up too much space. It's not the stealth look that I am adamant about, it's the clean lines :>

Regarding the Lights. I can move then up or down fairly easy via the chain link system. I'll update to a HPS after a few harvests for sure as I know that it would work better.

i see one thing i would change and i am suprised knowone has said anything about it and that is your light. cfl bulbs put out much more light when they are mounted horizontaly but im sure what you have going now is going to be fine though but if you want to get more light from those bulbs put them on their sides. and i was also wondering if you were seriously going to use less light/watts for flower or if that was some sort of typo? otherwise i am impressed with your cab looks like alot of room to grow some decent plants i wish you the pest of luck!

Thanks for the feedback! can you please clairify (Tons of info out there)

I have ( 6 6500K 42W CFL's and 6 2700K 23W CFL's) I understood that the 6500's (5x 6500 and 1x2700) would be best for Veg and to use the (5x 2700 and 1x6500) for Flowering. Please advise.

As per your note: I will look at placing a 2x CFL (Maybe 1 2700 and 1 6500); on either side to compliment the 6 which reside above. Giving me 10 active CFL's during both stages (Temperature permitting).

Another thing which has eluded me; that is.. A Small Plug in Oscillating Fan. If anyone can point me in the right direction to get one, please and thanks!

That's it for now.

I have had no luck finding a small, oscillating fan right now. The best I could find are 12v oscillating 6'' fans that are meant for RVs. You can find them on Ebay for about $15 shipped.... http://www.amazon.com/Custom-Accessories-40009-Auto-Oscillating/dp/B000HA9PXQ

What the other poster mentioned was that those CFLs are supposedly more effective when laid horizontal, instead of vertical like you have them.

I think something that will work well for both odor control and light leaks out the back are carbon filter pads like these: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?oe=utf-8&q=pet+carbon+filter&ved=0CCIQrQQwAg&cid=265175591347704264&sa=title#p You may have to replace them every week or so if you want the odor blocking qualities, but they should be one and done for killing light leaks. However, they will restrict air flow, so yo may need to cut another hole for exhaust of so.

Thanks Bud. Just ordered those Carbon pads; should be here in about 2 weeks. No worries there! thx for the heads up!

I can just place them Atop the fans? I have the actual fans on the inside of the Wardrobe; attaching a means to have them sit in the rear of the Wardrobe directly behind the Fans would be ok?

Looks great but Ok one thing if that is tin foil remove it please it will make hot spots and really dont reflect all that great. Try to get some white in there somehow without painting of course. and for the sides they have 2 foot or 4 foot t-5 that they sell in single bulb units and they are link able if you want two to a side. They would be great for the height of your cabinet when they start there strech. You can get red spectrem bulbs in t-5 also for flowering

Not too much Foil tape was used. I'd say 90% of when could be Foil is Mylar.

Changing up my lighting is a no go for now as I've already spent the money on the CFL's. I also just picked up 2 7 Outlet Power Bars and 6X Socket adapters that will plug directly in.

I'll mount the 2 Bars on the sides of the Cabinet tonight thus allowing for an additional 3 CFL's on either side. This should be more than sufficient, i believe.

i didnt say you had anything wrong with your spectrums they are set up perfect other than the total watts you should have bought the 2700k in 42w instead of 23 if you had a choice because you are going to want the bigger more powerfull light for flowering. more light never hurts even during veg but my opinion is to focus your time, money, and energy working on getting your flower setup ready and not waste much more on your veg because if i remember right you only have one plant at the moment and what you have now for lights is more than enough to get you through your veg stage in my opinion others may say different and as for fixing your light you gould use what you have now but just use Y splitters in the sockets you are using and that way you could get an angle on the bulbs and get more light down to your plant. Hope all is going well with your grow and if you have any questions ill be around. If you have time check out my journal almost 2 weeks into flower and putting new pics up soon

sorry to bug you again im stoned and forgot to type some things about the bulbs. i only used 6 23w 6500k cfls for veg plus a few 21w t5s later on in veg and now im using 2 t5s and 8 23w 2700k cfls for flower and they seem to be doing great but like i said earlier more light is better just make sure it dosent make your temps unmanageable.

What kind of material are those drapes made of and where did you get them? Are they reflective on one side?

That's a nice setup and very close in height to my cabinet. Correct me if I'm wrong but since you are using CFL's I'm assuming that you plan on keeping the plants somewhat short. If that is the case then I think you will find that you have a lot of wasted space above your lights. You could add another level above the lights to use as a mom/clone room. I use an air cooled HPS which requires ducting that takes up a lot of space in my cabinet so I added mom/clone rooms off to the side.
Good luck, you're headed in the right direction. :peace: OUT!

JRP677, sweet setup!

The Drapes are "panda Film" 90% reflective on the White side and 0% on the black side. VERY easy to work with.

This is my first grow, once I've gotten the hang of this I'll sell my wardrobe and rebuild one like yours.

Again, SWEET setup!
