Mylar better than flat white?

Think of this from a perspective of photography. It is the reflective value that is important here. Glossy white paint is just as good as anything. The big plus is that you can wash it down and keep you grow area clean. It is also cheaper and more permanent. Looks better too.

Trusted growers I've spoke with or read have said flat white is the absolute best. Because it diffuses the light equally as opposed to mylar wrinkles that can scatter the lightwaves... Or something like that...

Flat White!!!

No, but it sounds like it would be a good idea, but if all the old hippys arnt doing it, glassy white an mylar must be better, that or they were to baked to think of mirrors..lol

Here's the chart of percentages of light reflected from Jorge's latest:

Foylon 94-95
Reflective Mylar 90-95
Flat white paint 85-93
Semi-gloss white 75-80
Flat yellow 70-80
Aluminum Foil 70-75
Black < 10

There ya go, and when you buy the flat white paint, tell the paint guy to mix in a packet of fungicide.

HTH

Damn I was so close!

That's wierd about the mirrors no? I'd have thought it would reflect everything, it reflects my goofy mug every morning... Speaking of which, bowl n' bedtime!

And yeah, ferncakes, I'm an American which means I could install it properly. But I won't, because I'm a lazy bastard who just wants to grow my weed and get stoned to watch war on tv, or a tv show about war, or something like that - man I don't even know anymore [/thread derail]

:peace:
