Overcrowding is over-rated as an problem. How the leaves looking after the NPK bump the other day?

It will be fine, I have chopped my root mass in half before on a mother plant in DWC and there was no ill effects
Why would he want to chop his roots in half or risk geting them tangled wen he could fix it now..
Chopping roots is fine but imo is a last resort for a few good reasons,,
I trim mine wen i cant keep shoving them back into the channels anymore and they getting up in my res.

And if you want a main single cola then trim all that pop corn shit off the bottom 1/3 of the plant and trim anything that sticks out further then 2 inches
Untrimmed will still yield a main cola but ull have a bunch of pop corn baggage, which is fine if u got the space and like that kinda shit

Edit: oh you said momma plants which is fine, but these aint mommas, hes trying to yield these bitches..

I never once said for him to chop his roots in half please read the thread before posting. He said that the spinning sprayer in his unit might be ripping a little bit of root mass. I told him it would be fine. The sprayer is what gives this unit an advantage over others. Without the vortex sprayer it is just an overpriced DWC system. I suggest that next time you post maybe interpret the post that you are quoting a little better. :joint:

Hey guys

I added 80ML of GH Bloom Nutes to my res - bumping my ppm up in the 950-1000 range. I did this on Sunday night...and didnt really notice any changes. Today (about 15 minutes ago) I checked out my ladies and they're looking much better! My Super Lemon Haze is perking up (especially the top few sets of leaves), and the white widow is perking up as well! THANK YOU!

Things are VERY crowded now. Fan leaves from my plants are overlapping the plant next to them, and Im starting to wonder if I should remove some of the lower leaves. Thoughts? There are new branches coming every day around the bottom 1/3 of the plant with multiple sets of small leaves growing...should I let these grow?

My plants are now 8-10 inches tall...should I start flowering soon?

Sorry for all the Questions guys - Ill post pics later on today.

Merry Xmas Everyone

Ur gonna be one baked mofo wen these are done..
Light can only get penertrate so many inches (cant remember off the top of my head, someone will chime in) of the canopy and and anything under that will produce mediocre popcorn like buds while taking energy away from ur phat buds up top of ur girls.. but its tough cos u got a few strrains going on and im not sure how each of them prefer to be grown as in single main cola or a few main colas or many smaller branchy colas so ull have to find out for urself and trim accordingly... trim anything on the bottom 1/3 of the plant is the norm.. i also trim anything on the plant that sticks out more then 2 inches but i grow single cola SOG:joint:

haha - Im baked right now man :weed:

Im still picking up my stuff from someone else (and paying top fucking dollar ) I actually tipped my dealer this xmas...not a bad idea since i wont need him much longer :hump:

my ladies grew 2.5 inches last night! this morning I went into the tent and removed a few lower braches (ones with yellow/dying leaves). I left a few branches close to the bottom for now - I wasnt sure if ripping off well growing branches migh harm the plant?

I've lowered my temps to 71-73 - sound good? Its kept my humidity up - which I need!

No that is not good, too low
It should be 76-78°F

Thanks for the heads up man.

To regulate temperature I ajust the fan speed of my window fan blowing cold air into my spare room (the room where my tent is). I've turned the speed down which brings less cold air into the room - it should raise the temps by a few degrees.

Thanks again yo n' merry xmas :joint:

Don't remove leaves until you are sure they are doing the plant no more good. Large yield in greatly dependent on the amount of foliage a plant has. More leaves = more buds.

Its pretty hard to harm ur girls in a severe enough way to kill 'em off..It just depends on what ur trying to achieve with the plant..for instance, plants that do really well grown as a main cola then u arent doing any harm to ur plant or yield by trimming off insignificant branches..
How much you tip the dealer man?!:o
Ur dealer got fire? whats he calling it?

yo guys

Everything has been going really well. My foilage is greener then ever, all of the plants have grown a good 5-6 inches from my last pics, and all leaves are perky as a nice set of young titties.

Im going to throw it into flower tomorrow.

Insted of starting my lights up in the morning (done by timer) - they'll spend the day in the dark. The lights will jump back online Tuesday morning. Is there anything special I should do when sending my ladies into flower? Should I add my next set of nutes before or after my darkness stage? I am now using the LUCAS FORUMLA for my nute schedule (thanks Doogleef).

Man these ladies are looking sexxxxxyyy!

Why are you leaving them in the dark for the day?
Darkness will make the plants stretch due to more cell elongation
I would just go from your regular veg lighting to 12/12 without an extended darkness in between if you can help it

Thanks man

TOM - I've decided to run a dark cycle before flowering to speed up the flowering time and "shock" them into flowering. Im not worried about vertical space in my tent (I have 6 feet), and I've heard that it saves on the overall flowering time. I've read a bunch of posts on this site that reccomend doing this, and most if not all have had great success.

Last night I spent some time in the tent closing off areas that may be potential for light leaks. Keeping the lights of in the day time is new to me, and I dont want to find out the hard way about small light leaks. My tent is in my Spare Room in my apartment...I have installed blinds on the windows, but they DEF dont keep all the light out.

When I turn my lights back on tomrorow Im thinking of running my 12/12 with the actual SunUP/SunDown to minimize the chance of light problems incase there's a light leak during flowering....yes im paranoid, but its worked for me so far!

im addicted to growing...help

Hey SirNasty...

Hey man, your grow is lookin great!

Sorry for not posting my Rainforest update pics, but I ran into a problem. I ended up getting root rot!!!! I know that you are using a similar setup with the lights (I'm at almost 592 with a Mix of T5 flouros and 400W HPS) so I wanted to bring something to your attention. When I hit an agressive growth phase moving into transition to flower, I ended up getting root rot! I think that this was because of some extraneous light penetration into the reservoir. I pushed the plants back into a strong veg and stunted them (after pruning all the bad roots). I didn't think that those slits on top would let much light in, but I guess they did. I'd cover all the inserts, lids/ and components with something (I'm going to go with mylar and then use an adhesive to lock it down).

Peace.

Yeah, did that... Now I'm salvaging... Running pure water with flora shield now to see if I can clean em up or to see if it's going to come back. I'm keeping PPM at 500 to go easy on the girls. Maybe they'll make it, but I've got to take some clones to be prepared for the worse. Next go around I'll do the H2O2 + Flora Shield. That should take care of it...
