ok.. i have plants growing in a variation of dwc, and the roots are right in the res... now,
I have wondered a few things about finishing things up.
when do I do the final flush before harvest.. just water? 3 days is sticking in my mind.. but I keep reading 2 weeks.. 7 days..and do I keep it going right up to harvest.. dry it out a day before? if this is one of those ?'s that have been asked and answered a million times.. sorry.. just need a fast answer so I can start planning it..

thanks for help!:leaf:

I go to plain water about a week before I "think" trichs will be ready. But then if it needs longer I don't worry about going longer.

Thanks illegal! I was off at either end of the spectrum. REP+ --- just cause I like to always hear a consensus... can anyone second that?

Can, or rather should I add molasses to that final rinse? I mean.. in a dwc system is it not good for the air stones and pumps.. I can experiment if I want to know about what it does to plants, I just want to know that if others have tried it, if it was ok on the pumps.. or does it clog air stones and not recommended?

I don't use molasses at all and nothing but water at the end.

cool.. i had a feeling from what I've researched that the molasses thing was a bit of urban legend.. don't get me wrong, I'm still going to try it, just for my own personal reference.. but it's nice to be able to talk to other growers and get a feeling for what is factual and what is hype... thanks again for the fast reply.. makes it more like a learning conversation for me.. much obliged.

two weeks for chemical nutes. one for organic nutes... Molasses works but I added to my res and it foamed up and there was a slime on my roots and trying to wash it off in the shower is hard and it took 2 weeks to recover. don't recommend for dwc

I had the same experience as J to the C. Throw in the fact that some of the airstones went out at the same time, and the bacteria in the molasses caused root rot and killed 3 of my plants in flowering. Had to early harvest.

It probably wasn't long enough without an air stone for that alone to kill it, but the lack of oxygen and presensce of bacteria really screwed the plants over.
