30x is good but if you really what some inexspencive ones than go to 60x to 100x need practice with that one though because of the magnification

Smart tools from the android market. Better than any scope. Turn it on, turn on your light, zoom in, hit the autofocus, be amazed


-edit if you dont have a smartphone for some reason then youll want better than a 30x, id recommend a 60x (still crap compared to smarttools though)

I have found, even though I have bad eyes, a 30 power or 45 is plenty.
Any more than that, and I have a hard time holding it still long enough to see clearly.

Once again a 30x will not be good enough, you will barely be able to see your trics. You want a nice up close view. And seriously baka 26xx posts since December? Post count isnt that important man

I'm not going for post count, and I don't care about 'rep', so back off.
I've been here since before what it shows, and I post when I want to, and observe when I want to.
And, instead of saying 'once again', like your opinion is the 'best', try reading.....
I told the OP that 'what I had found', meaning from my use and experience.

I really dont mean to sound like a dick baka, but sometimes it happens. And Ive gone through 20 pages of your posts, I like how you think and how you contribute but your "experience" growing indoor consists of ONE plant under cfls thats not done yet. Your outdoor experience I cant speak on and it might be great, but when it come to magnifiers you NEED at least a 60x, I have 5 different magnifiers myself because I listened to people saying 30x and 45x would be fine so I bought the jewelers stuff and have them all in front of me right now so I would say my opinion on the matter is accurate. Come to find out you CANNOT actually see your trichs worth a crap untill you hit 60x. You want to see if they are clear or cloudy or have good pictures of closeups like you see all over here? Then get a 100x. And if youve actually been here for longer than a few months than my "post count" comment was a little uncalled for but not by much. Also the scope style ones can be a pain to try to focus.

Smarttools on the phone trumps all of em

I have a jewelers loupe and it is horrible. I also have 20/20 vision. Get the cheapo ten or twelve dollar handheld,illuminated microscope off the net (60x-100x) if you want to CLEARLY see trichromes. Go easy on the focus wheel, they strip out easy. IME the loupe pulls trichs just barely into focus, but not enough to tell the difference between a clear, cloudy or amber one. Really like the smart phone idea, need to find an app for iphone. makes sense, those lenses can probably focus smaller than 100x plus your eyeball ever could.

You can get just the mag tool too and take pics. USB ones are fun on a PC..Ebay.
