Need Help Choosing Lighting

Hello RIU Community,

I plan on running a Stinkbud aeroponic garden in which the garden would be around 6x8 feet. I was planning on dividing the width (the 8 feet) by three HPS lights with each light put on a light mover so the lights could be closer to the plants. Question is...

Should I use 600 watt lights or 400 watt lights? Or if you think three lamps is too much let me know what you think. I am open to any advice and/or input, hence the thread.

Thank you all so much for your time and I hope to hear from many of you.

You can never have too much light (aside from seedlings/clones).......unless of course heat is a problem, lol. I would say go with 2 600s or 3 400s. Hell you could even go 3 600s, lol. If you got the money, go big. Just make ventilation a top priority.

if you are using a mover then you could get away with only two 600 hps. i saw a 6' x 12' grow bed with only two 600 hps inline and only a few inches from the plants. the plants were in great shape so it deffinately works. there is a video on youtube by a guy named Cervantes. i forget the title of the videos but just search for "how to grow marijuna". i think video #2 or 3 shows plant movers. very informative.
