I didn't read your post well enough and i jumped to thrips as a quick conclusion but i would have to say that you are infected with fungus gnats. Are you letting your pots dry out well before watering?

It could also be whiteflys but with no photo it will be hard to diagnose. Could you scoop some of the dead buggers up and take a group pic?

Thrips would live on the foliage.
Fungas gnat larvae look like maggots.
Springtsils live on top inch of soil n they jump.
Root aphids, are in the roots. They are tiny white or silver ?

They are tiny white/ silver flea like things that jump like crazy , they live in damp areas like root zone, under pots ect . I am convinced they are killing my plants , has to be the culprit ,,, under a 40x scope they have the ariels with 2 rings on them ..

Do your plants leaves start yellowing and die and fall off. Everyday you go in your room there is another 100 leaves on the floor. I used to grow nice plants then this started happening i can't get it under control . You might have root aphids , I've been mixing neem oil in the water that helped for a while. Plants seem to do ok untill about 4th or 5th week of flower then it starts and advances fast. I know this isn't the answer your looking for but it might put you on the right path.

yeah something like that ..leaves don't fall that fast but they die off , yellow, spotty , dead , for the longest time i thought it was a ph thing but why when i never had ph trouble before ..my water is good clean mountain water , i am careful with the nutes , used to grow beautiful plants ..now its a struggle to keep them alive ... can't keep them alive lately at all for any time .... so i'm blaming these critters what ever they are they gotta go .. i have gotten slack and my room is a mess ...dirty ...that don't help matters i'm sure . And for the record...i can't keep a plant alive long enough to flower, not in good health anyways . I have thrips or whiteflies to boot ...have had those for years and can't get rid of them ..

Well, maybe 3 tbsp of molasses might be thought of as too much, me and my brother both use 3 tbsp of molasses and spray with neem oil, my brothers is outside, and he has had a dramatic decrease in bugs of all kinds, and his plant looks very healthy, I on the other hand just plain forget to use the molasses, but have been adding in h2o2 with waterings, and I end up just mixing in molasses with my teas, the neem oil completely got rid of my spider mite infestation, and the h2o2 and molasses during feedings is getting rid of my bugs in my soil, so I guess to each his own, every grow is different, and everyone needs to find what works for them, 3tbsp of molasses is just the mixture I found and decided to use, as for my brother, he has seen good results from just the molasses and neem, and neither one of us has had any adverse affects at all, only plants getting healthy and being given the chance to heal and grow, so wrong as it may be, we're both getting the results we were looking for.

I have done some cleaning .... down to a few mothers ..i clipped a male out yesterday and started digging through top of soil and noticed a skinny maggot looking thing squirming around , i also noticed a greenish housefly , it was sluggish , i have noticed these around for awhile now and they lay in the top of the soil almost in a hybernate stage , also have noticed a few blackfly type flyers on my sticky traps , but longer . Got a usb scope now will try for a few pics .

if you can acquire monteray garden insect spray WITH spinosad...get that use 2 tbs a gallon for a root drench and it will murder the thrips and springtails ;)
..also if you do get this when you foliar turn lights off the uv rays kill the spinosad and render it useless

They look like fungas gnats... which I too am battling.. Have gotten them in check.. using the soap, also watered with a mix of water and peroxide and sprinkled cinnamon on top of the soil. that said my plants look like shit now and didn't prior. I order from amazon and am in Canada as well, it's the shipping $ that kicks your ass...
