Hi there,

Im building my own cab which is 500mm (w) 550 (l) 850 (h)

I am going to use 2 120mm pc fans on the roof of the cab as extake fans. They are going to be positioned above 2 x 150w envirolites and 1 120mm pc fan at the bottom of the cab bringing fresh air in.

So I can light proof everywhere apart from the fans. Any ideas how I am going to do this. I thought of covering the wholes made in the cab with ladies tights not sure this will work though. How do you do it?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. 2 90 degree elbows, colored black, and a black stocking over the opening wouldnt hurt either.

I do love stockings.......

Fantastic advice, i would never have thought of that. I guess the light can't penetrate the 90 degree angle and you can pick them up for cheap at the DIY store :)

So im struggling to find 90 degree elbows to fit my 120mm pc fans. Any ideas where I can find any baring in mind we don't have Walmart, Home Depot where I live. Which section would I find them in? Plumbing? Guttering?

Any other ideas for light proofing others can bring to the post?

I've used pvc pipe with elbows (plumbing), easy enough to cut and assemble. Spray paint the inside black.
It's not necessary to use tubes either, as long as the light must turn two 90 deg angles, you are in good shape. I use a square box constructed of wood that accomplishes the same thing on a larger box. Spray paint the inside of this as well.
