if i am using a hydro system, how long should i set the timer to run the water for every day?

btw, it can be set at two different times during the day- minimum: 1 hr.

depends on allot of things, like the grow media you are using, size of the plants, drainage etc.... im growing in rockwool and am haveing trouble not overwatering.... right now i am doing 30 min of water every 12 hours...

yep - depends on the system - my aero jet sprays water while the lights are on and for about an hour during the middle of the dark cycle.

Get to know your plants and the type of set up you have....hard to say; All plants set ups are different and requires adjustment depending on what is going on with your plants. Trail and Error....I don't think there is a concrete answer to your question.

1. When a pump turns on just like a ac unit it takes up alot of power so the amount of time that your pump having to turn on within 24 hr period would take up more power then a pump running constantly at a low amperage.

THis is completly wrong, the pump doesnt take that much power to turn on and off, unless ur doing it like every 5 min. Although it is tru u will grow MUCH faster with it on 24/7. U could probly put it on for about 4 hrs. in the morning and 4 hrs. in the afternoon.
shouldn't yuou already know how long to run your pumps? lol
