NEED HELP
I am seriously considering opening an indoor garden supply store as a new business venture.* I have never done anything like this but am ready to take a chance and put a lot of energy into it.
I am looking at opening the store in rural Maine where I live and am a MMJ patient.* With the new laws taking effect in Maine dictating how patients get medicine, 8 dispensaries will be opening around the state in different regions.* One is opening right down the road from me in a business part of town, the key here is that there is space available in the same facility; this is where my shop would be.* To me its a no brainer, I feel like someone is going to open a grow shop here and it is going to succeed, it should be me There are not any other shops for some miles in the area.
For anyone who has done this before I have some questions.
1.****** Business plan and bank loans?* I have been referred to a counseling service that would help me with a business plan to take to the bank, any experiences here?
2.****** What suppliers are best and how much is initial investment for inventory?
3.****** What about online stores and drop shipping?
4.****** Do you hire employees right off the bat?* I am not an indoor expert but I could make it go (plus I know a lot of experts and I have you guys!)
Can anyone give me other pitfalls or things to consider / Ideas/ all comments are welcome, as I try to secure a location and get funded.* I cant afford to start paying rent on a place without some capital first.* The space Im looking at is 8 dollars a sq foot per year and I believe its 3000 square feet.
