Hey all I'm in dire need of some help understanding a light im wanting to buy. Looking for someone that knows there stuff regarding cob setups. Ive been wanting to run a cob setup for a long time and I finally found a great deal on one but I don't understand why its so different from most others ive seen. It's running 54 Cree CXB3590's and a meanwelll driver (doesn't say which one) but is only 360w? That seems wierd to me that there's so many chips for just 360 watts. There's not much info about the lights specifics so that's all I know. It's plug and play setup and I'd be super stoked to have it if it's actually going to be functional. What I'm wanting to know is there a difference in performance depending on how hard you push each cob? And does that setup even make sense. And if this is legit would I be able to add another driver and push the cobs a little more to increase the wattage? Cuz it seems like a phenomenal deal for so many cxb's. There's only a couple available at the low price so any help would be greatly appreciated so I can decide before they're gone. If you don't know how to help maybe you know someone on rui thats into cobs and would be willing to take a min to help out a fellow grower. I REALLY WANT THIS TO BE LEGIT but I'm worried it's too good to be true.

That isn’t even possible. 54 CXB3590s at 360w? Those aren’t COBs. Sounds like Chinese panel company convoluting diodes for COBs.

thanks man. It does seem wierd to me but I don't understand how they could just lie. I'm goin to post pics real quick van you look at em and possibly explain why that's not possible? Thanks for the links...I really appreciate the help. Though I've looked at them all already and have them bookmarked. This deal would just be to good to pass up if they are actually cree cxb's

Right! Lol. That's why I'm worried. But it looks legit I think. And it doesn't have heatsinks....but I think it may just be running so low power it doesn't get as hot.
Doesn’t work that way with COBs. It’s not legit, I really wouldn’t buy it. I’ll show you a real CXB3590 emitter face, hold on.

I'm glad to see that my worries weren't completely unfounded but I'm still not ready to give up on this. If anybody can explain why this would be or wouldn't be possible I'd VERY MUCH appreciate it.

No one runs 54 COBs at 360w. Like, you put that wattage through maybe 3-4 emitters. That would be way too weak.

I totally get your point...that's why I'm asking about it...but that doesn't mean they're not real just because it would be a dumb way to do it. It's suppoosedly from a US based company....and if they are real then Id have a ton of cxb's to work with. I could study this stuff for real and learn how to make better use of them all with a diy style setup.
Do you by any chance know for sure it's not possible?

Thanks for your responses tho...I'm not saying I don't believe you I just would like to understand it before I give up on it. I really do appreciate the help.
It’s cool. I just want you to be confident that this is a light that’s ok to pass on before passing on it.

They don’t list Cree CXB3590 anywhere on their eBay.

Also, it doesn’t list their Bin, their part numbers, or anything.

I asked. They replied cxb3590's. It's kinda wierd that their website doesn't say either but idk...I just want to know. Thats it. If it is possible I'm gonna try. If I get it and it's bullsh** then I'll return it. But that's a lot of money to me to throw around for a month or so for nothing so I'm trying to see if it's even close to worth it.

For the same price, you could get real COBs from vendors here. Ones that are more effective.
Really? 350 dollars for a full 360w cree setup? I haven't seen that....and if this is true I'd have 54 cxbs...that alone would cost more wouldn't it? It's probably not legit. But I don't do anything on assumptions .
