Need Help W/ Co2 setup - PPM-4 Co2 Controller

Howdy folks. So its the first time haveing Co2 and would like some advice to how to set up the PPM -4

Current Grow

4`x 8` tent
2x 1000w mix
14k btu portable outside of tent (using ducting and a sealed box to vent the air into the tent)
5gal pots
super soil
10 plants in week 3 of flowering
20 gal co2 tank
CAP PPM 4
1 heavy duty timer that I dont use I just plug and unplug the lights manually (i have the time )
FAE (Free Air Exchange) is by the AC.
530 cfm fan that is not sucking air out of the tent.


So my main question is how I should set up the controller.

The guy at the store said to just plug my reg to the controller in the wall and it regulates itself and to just add a timer to my exhaust for 15/15 no idea if that makes sine or not.

Is your room sealed?


If it isn't, you are gonna be sucking all that co2 you paid for out of your room every time the exhaust fans come on.

Yeah its about 98% sealed. There is no exhaust inside the tent sucking air out of the tent. Just an intake which is my AC ducting (portable which sits outside of the tent) which is on all the time during light on to keep temps between 69F-80F (depends on the weather).

I say 98% sealed because of the 100`s of pinhole holes you see around the seems so I assume there is a small bit of air escape.

So last night I did a test run and watched. So what the controller does is kind of acts like a timer. The ppm`s rise from 0-900 to 901-1450 then to 1450+ for a couple minutes it sets at that then the co2 automatically kicks off and you watch it drop just to the 901 where it will start to blink slightly then it kicks on again re-raising the ppm back to 1450+.

So should this be ok to leave on while the lights are on?
