hey i need to get some help here ive been doing alot of thinking and i cant really find the best way to set up my carbon filter. SO i have a 4x4 tent, 600w HPS, 530 CFM inline fan , and a 6x16 phresh carbon filter that is not set up currently i am running the fan outside the tent sucking air through the cool tube out the closet into a room with ac and have a fan at the door blowing cool air into the closet to keep the temps below 80. so what would be the best way to set it up in my 4x4 tent what all do i need to buy i know i need some insulated ducting and some connector pieces. but can yall please give me some advice, pictures, video references, anything that will help me and remember that i have to keep it quiet. THANKS SOO MUCH IF U HELP AND HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Get some insulated ducting and hose clamps. Also some kind of strapping or bungee cords or something.

decide where you want your filter. Somewhere toward the top of the tent, maybe middle-back, maybe more toward a corner, whatever tickles our pickle.

I'll assume the light is already mounted.

Now where do you want to exhaust all that non-funky goodness? Pick a spot and decide whether you want your fan in or out of the tent. Don't mount the fan yet. I'd go with inside the tent, just after the light hood. Some folks like to have their fans immediately after their carbon filters, I prefer to have mine as close to the exhaust end of my run as possible because I believe it to be most efficient this way.

Want it super quiet? Buy or fabricate a duct muffler. They aren't difficult to make, but I'll admit to buying mine for convenience. They work great though. Mine is made by the same folks who made your filter. Once you've decided on where to vent and whether or not you'll get a duct muffler, then mount the fan.

Ok so now connect the dots.

Carbon filter ----> light hood ----> fan ----> duct muffler ( or short run of duct) -------- and that's it, we're done.

You can use straps to hang the filter (or whatever you like), using bungee cords to suspend the fan will reduce vibration and cut noise further.

i have a 720cfm fan exhausting one of my spaces with that muffler, and I can't hear anything unless I literally stick my head in the end of the muffler. The two 400cfm intake fans on the other hand, are another matter.
On a tent though, a passive intake should be fine

i want the filter at the top. but currently i got insulated ducting on both ends of the fan witch is right out side of the tent ... i think ima leave my fan outside the tent( i think this will be the easiest/quietest way). so ----> carbon filter ---> cool tube hood---fan witch is outside the tent... it is just gonna be a bitch taking all my plants out and installing this. i have straps the tent came with imma usse to hold up the filter... how much ducting will i need from the filter to the hood u think?
