need help with watering equipment

alright newbie here planning on outdoor grow. I plan getting my water source from a big creek and plan on pumping it to resevoir that will hold water and hopefully fertilizer from there it will have a timer to release the water as needed. Now if i have the water in the resevoir over a period of time will that water go stag anent and if so do you have any ideas on getting around this? I want to visit as least as i can for watering.
Another thing is there anyway to have a constant water flow from creek to reservoir with fertilizer without over flowing that i can pump to my plants or would i need to feed manually?

thanks for any help in advance

Yea I got some advice. Why the hell are you giving it nutes and setting up an elaborate water/nute system when you could just let nature take its course? Is this an guerrilla grow?

You might not need to pump to a reservoir. You could string up a sheet of plastic and catch water then hydrate from that. Or gravity feed straight from the creek.

Have you thought about crystal rain? That helps.

In terms of stagnating, it should be fine. As soon as it hits the earth or even when it leaves the barrel - as soon as it breaks with the air then it will become oxidised.

Alright well it is a guerrilla grow and if I don't use ferts my plants wont look as healthy or yield as much right?

Im not sure I would need to pump the water to the reservoir but I figured it would be easier to pump to res. then hide hose and pump, from there I could mix ferts and test ph and all that good stuff. Then set a water timer that will feed/water while i am gone over 2-4 week period or so.

I plan on having a few hundred plants so could you tell me how many 55 gallon reservoirs i would need?

The only thing about the plastic is it would only water the plants when it rained which could be weeks. So with the stagnating thing, Having 55 gallon drums and the water with fertilizer at the top being used last which could be weeks from leaving the barrel wouldn't it be stagnating?
what is crystal rain?
thanks for the advice and once I start it this coming season I hope your watching cause it'll be a show.

Thousands of years before the birth of Jesus Christ, cannabis has been growing in the wild without any "nutes" and just using what they could find in the earth. You will be fine without any nutes. It will grow huge and strong and will yeald more than anything you ever seen indoors, and it can do all this without your help! All it needs is water so when your weather gets a heat spike you may have to go tend to them and feed them water, other than that it will grow great. Nature knows best.

^ What he said. Cannabis is a weed. Weeds are known to grow whenever/wherever in the most adverse conditions. Technically, you could just toss a seed on the ground in the middle of nowhere and that baby could grow to be a tree without any help from anyone except Mother Nature. Now if you want to guarantee success, you could go water it and/or give it nutes when the weather is dry or you feel like it needs it. If it's a guerilla grow and you only want to be back there maybe once a month or less, you're just gonna have to let nature do all the work. Pretty sure 55 gallons of water would get stagnant after a while. Not to mention the fact that the more crap you put back there, the better chance your plants will be found. If an unknowing person stumbles upon 100 "weird plants" they might not think anything of it. If they follow 50 feet of hose up from the creek, find half a dozen 55 gallon drums and a pump and then the 100 plants, you might have some authorities waiting for you to check on your crop.

This great pictures, thank you for sharing them. I will return to post the picture on this forum and you'll find them great.

Man I don't know why I can't manage to work the search function properly on this site yet. I find good links all the time and then can't find my way back to them.

The point of ferts is to give your plants a bigger yield. Really, it's all relative. Compared to an indoor grow, you're usually going to get a better yield doing outdoor. Doing outdoor with nutes, you're usually going to get a bigger yield than without.

It's really all up to you. I've had friends throw the seeds in the ground and come back 4 months later to nice plants and I've had friends that took soil, shovels, nutes, etc back with them and got some awesome plants but that was risky and a lot of work.

It all depends on you and your situation.

stonehead, the water rez is a good idea. If you can conceal everything from prying eyes on the ground & in the air. After lugging tons of water in 5 gallon buckets this past summer I'll be watchin' your thread. Gotta be very careful your equipment will lead straight to your grow. Unless you are one of the very few with adequate rain and ground moisture you'll be doing a LOT of watering. Good luck

The volume guerrilla growers I know plant in stands of ten plants, all widely separated, in really rough country and work in teams of two for every 50 plants. Lots of rough living and camping out from the time flowering begins. Everything including water has to be hauled in as LE air patrols aren't stupid and specifically track areas with water access.

That said, unless everything is buried you're asking to be busted or ripped with 55gal barrels and irrigation lines in plain sight.

As to water requirements, that'll depend on your soil composition. My indicas in 3'x3'x3' holes with excellent drainage soil each require two gallons every day in 100° summer heat (end July all of August) after veg is finishing and flowering starts. I use organic decomposed cow manure in my soil mixture and the only nutes I use are a couple of applications of diluted fish emulsion during veg and molasses during flowering.

Good luck with your grow. You'll need more help than you can possibly imagine to harvest, dry, trim, weigh and package the yield from a couple of hundred mature plants.

Alright well were I live i am not to worried about rippers/pigs or harvesting although how much estimating would you say harvest could be so I have an idea, my strain is critical mass, and hash plant haze I know this is asked a lot so sry. my main concern is water. Although there is nearby creeks all over, my water source is easily gotten to. I will be doing this alone, I have learnt the hard way partners aren't but snitches with big mouths,so I fly solo. Whats the most I could get away with at one plot pushing it? With the lines and reservoir I have an idea that I could hide the lines and reservoir very well before growing season also would you suggest it or water manually? So with nutes its better to use but not necessary?bongsmilie

Hi everyone, I'm Lehvorak but in other places they just call me L or Lev (Sometimes even Levvy) for short. Mainly it is up to you on how you would like to say it :P. I know it is 2 days late on posting introductions... but I'll just start now
.

I like a lot of anime and anything related to Japanese. Also my art style is manga/marvel ^.^ . I can play the piano and guitar and the fun thing about playing the piano is that I can play it blindfolded
. It can be challenging sometimes, but where's the fun if there is no challenges? Well, I think that is everything except for a hobby of mine which is web designing which I enjoy.

That's pretty much everything. I hope all of you in Anime Forum will take good care of me
. If you have any questions go ahead and ask :P.
