need help

i know this has been asked somewhere else probally but ive spent the last hour looking so i gave up and decided to make a new thread.
can i hook up a car lighter plug into a standard outlet by chopping off the ends of it and like a cell phone charger and just hook up the wires inside each?

c'mon somebody must know the answer.....

can someone at least direct me to a place where i can find the answer.......

maybe if you explain what you need the plug for then someone could give you a better idea of what will work. I might know what you're trying to do. are you referring to the post where someone was trying to explain how to hook up computer fans?

if thats the case... you splice the wires and attach them to an old car charger. make sure you know what you're doing. i.e. use electrical tape. know your wires... or you might just end up with a big ass fire!

i have a electric cooler but its only got where u can plug it into car cig lighter and my room where im keeping it doesnt have one of them. the coolers awesome cuz its all white on the inside, has a good venting system,nice and compact size (18*24*16) for starting clones ,the mother and veg, when door is closed no light leaks at all and it seems like an ordinary cooler to people, im planning on using some 42w daylight cfls and 2 18 in. 18w tube flouroscents daylight and i got another place for flowering it

I believe a car plug is 12v, so connecting it to a 12v cell charger should work. Again, not 100% sure, but I think it can be done.
