Need lighting advice for seeds and clones

Hi guys,i've grown in ebb & flow a few times,but i always use clones,and there's still alot things i need to learn...This is my first time growing from seed,and i have never used cfls before,i plan on germinating, 6 kandy kush seeds in rockwool...I want to put the seedlings under some kind of light,to prevent streching,before moving them under the 600w Metal Halide,and can i use this same light for clones..Thanks for your advice.

I use a single cfl till they show roots, then they go under the 600watt mh. Just put the light about 4-5 feet away from the rooted plants.

i put my seedlings under my 400w mh never have a problem

You can get your seeds/clones going under that light no problem, its what I do.

If you are using CFLs then I'd say go with at least 2 of them. I'd say go with either 65 watt or 85 watt daylight white bulbs. That's how I started my current grow and my girl is now into day 15 of flowering, has over 20 main colas, and is 47 inches tall- all with CFLs

im useiing cfls for right now, the bulb im useing though is a very very bright, almost blue fluressent kind of light, i think it has helped tramendacly.

Seedlings/clones and my mom stay under one 55w 6500K compact T5. Once the seedlings have sprouted or the clones are rooted I add a second 55w bulb, this one 3000K. After two weeks I move them into the veg cab which has three of the 55w bulbs in it (Two 6500K, one 3000K).

I love CFL's because I can keep them so close to the top of the plants during veg.

Cfl's work for me

CFLs are such a great way to grow because they can be placed so close to plants without harming them, they cost less-( and more eco-friendly which is what our civilization needs by the way), and they can still produce a great yield if used correctly They work for me too my friend

ya i like them beacase yes, you can put them close to the plant, but also, beacase i have seen tramendes noticable growth.

True the plants do grow very quickly with CFLs. But it actually depends on the medium used in your grow and how you grow them. If you use hydroponics and at least some sort of right nutrients, the plants will thrive and grow at an accelerating rate . But if you grow in soil, the growth will definitely be slower but can still be sufficient.
