Need Lighting Advice

I'm picking up a 400w mh to veg my babies under tonight, but I'm still trying to figure out what kind of light I'm using now! When it's off, it looks like a regular light bulb except with no markings and a definate purplish/blueish tint. It's bright, I'm guessing about 250w. My babies are kicking ass under it and a 150w generic grow lamp I ghetto rigged in my closet. I'm thinking about rigging these lights up on the sides of the room around the MH as a supplement. Is this a good idea? The room gets plenty of air and I have a 2 foot fan sucking heat away from the plants, the fans also big enough that the suction creates a gentle breeze for the plants. What kind of bulb might this mystery machine be, and would it be a good idea to use these lights in addition to the MH?

Come on kids, don't be shy! I know somebody's got more knowledge than I do, and I gotta get this set up right after work!

more light is always a good thing as long as you can control the heat. A pic of the bulb would help.

I'll get some pics up soon. My ghetto rig grow room is slowly moving on up to the eastside. Tonight I'm setting up the new mh ballast, CO2, temp/humidity and everything else I should've had ready a week ago. I'll post pics of the bulb and setup. But just to pass the sniff test; does a two foot fan square fan (the kind that are square, about 4 inches deep and sit on the floor on in a window) seem like it would exhaust enough heat? It really sucks air out of the room. Enough to the point where there is always a constant breeze being sucked back through the fan.

They'll be fine now. 400w mh + 150 full spectrum and only two plants to soak up all those lumens. Spoiled brats...they'll have little sisters tomorrow.
