how many cfls? i was thinkin get like 3 more cfls of the same sort(26watt, 6500K, 1600 lumens) and do i put all the lights on top of the plant or should i put like 2 of em on the sides to get sum more latteral branching going on?
I'd aim for at least 6-7 23w CFL's for a purple haze, I think (that's just a mildly educated guess).

The amount of wattage you give the plant in the form of light will more or less will equate to the amount of energy for use in photosynthesis your plant has, and therefore would equate to how fast your plant is able to grow.

But no doubt someone will post with more reputable info there.

The most important thing for you to be worrying about is getting some mylar surrounding your plant like you'll see in a lot of grow rooms. The more light you trap in the plant's vicinity the more energy it has to grow, and as someone stated above sativa's LOVE a lot of light.

Also, I picked up my 400w HPS bulb for 15 bucks shipped on eBay and the ballast+reflector I bought local for $110 brand new.

Ask around, look in local classified ads, you'll find something cheap if you look hard enough.

You can get a 150w HPS fixture even cheaper I'd gladly wager.

Why not leave em all in there? That way you end up with 16000 lumens and you will do a lot better, and defo get sum mylar if u can, the light will be spread around the plant better.

Oh yea. Forget the Mylar and pick up some thick white poster board. Its way cheaper and easier to find. Plus Mylar is a pain in the ass and more trouble than its worth.

I dont usually like goin against the vets on ere but surely you as an experienced grower must realise that using cfl's without a highly reflective surrounding is going to hinder the performance of a SATIVA. mylar will will really help u out even them shiny foam mat fings would be better, i would still get some boards but cover them in mylar its only gona cost u like a tenner im sure ur not worried about a couple of dollars.

I agree with Hiltop, you can see purple sometimes due to the lack of soil temperature! Remember that your "ROOTBALL" should be around 80 F

If the Roots are not maintained above 74 F then you will have lack of root growth!

lights?

In that cupboard I would be looking at a min 250watt CFT ( compact fourecent tube)
-> or 400 HM
-> LED on 14watt (blue NOT RED)

and some AIRFLOW!
maybe even CO2

And get that thing into a better POT! Would you grow if you wore pants from when you were 10? HAHA! I'll be here ALL WEEK!

GOOD LUCK!

Remembering that in these TOUCH economic times, Mylar has a 98.9% reflection rate. Thus BOOSTING the amount of light you will need! Also this can help with creating a "sealed" environment in which you can now then make to youre specification!

but its so far from the fluorescent light it wont have much to reflect back. Plus when its all wrinkely and dirty it doesnt work at all so like I said its not worth the trouble. imho
