need some advice about lights

whats up everyone, just joined cause i was trying to figure out what my best options for a indoor room were and i thought it would just be easier if i asked myself. Heres the story, i have four plants, all about 3-4 ft tall(ill post pics when i get batts for camera)that i have been growing outside for a while, and budding for about a week now, but the prob is that i want them to get more sunlight cuz theyre not catching it in the morning, just the strong afternoon sun till the evening, only about 9 hours. i have a perfect room thats got potential but im not trying to set it up crazy(yet anyways), i just need to know the best and or cheapest lights to use to grow for the remainder of the flowering period, and if it works out i will obviously keep it rollin through the winter. But for now the room is bout 6 by 8 and bout 9 ft tall, and i have a couple of fixtures that can hold the long fluro bulbs, i just need t know should i buy bulbs for that?should i go with cfl's and get new fixtures?what specific kind of bulbs do i need for flowering and whats the cheapest route?any help greatly appreciated!!!!:weed:

i would go with 1000watt hps or you could get 2 400watt hps, but those are prolly on the more expensive end..cfls are much cheaper but not recommended in your case by me..just too much of a hastle.

My area is 8ft X 4ft x 6.5ft high and I am using 2 X 600W lights in there. I'm really new too but someone told me to get the 1000's and for my space it was overkill. I'm not sure why or how but 600W lights (MH or HPS) seem to be the most efficient. For your space you may need a couple of 1000W lights though.

For flowering you definitely want to be using HPS (high pressure sodium) bulbs as they have a better light spectrum for flowering than the MH (metal halide) which are used for Veg.

I got my 2 X 600W ballasts for $160 each (they are digital and can use both types of bulbs automatically) the bulbs, sockets and reflectors I paid around another $100. Brand on the ballast is Welthink - did some googling and they seem like a decent company and I found rumours (unsubstantiated) that they make the Lumatek ballasts as well(?).

Hope that helps a bit?

Unless the area your plants are in are super, super, super shade in the morning they will still receive more sunlight than any grow light will ever give them plus when they are in full sun they will get way, way, WAY more light than any grow light will ever give them. The power of sunrays is like infinitely more than the most powerful grow light could ever hope to be so you likely might be better off leaving them where they are.

it sucks cuz i have to keep them on my porch in my backyard and the house blocks the sun, i used to have them in the ground on the side of my house but my prize-winning female got plucked in the middle of the night by some lazy asshole who cant grow his own shit, and the thing prolly died n e ways cuz they literally ripped it out. But thanks for the advice i never thought of it that way nor did i think to compare the two. Bringing them in was just to get them away from thieving hands and the fuzz, as well as to replace the 3 hours of sunlight i was missing. Also, I guess im doin research to see what it takes so i can grow over the winter indoors, to have non stop action. This is only my second time actually trying to grow, i did some last year, and they came out alright, but theyre lookin better this year except for the fact that i might have split them a little to close to the budding stage and the fact that i had to put them into pots right after i split them, which kind of shocked them for a little bit but i didnt know i would get jacked and i didnt know when they were gonna start buddin. Pics comin soon

Cool man, thats just what im lookin for, where would i get LED lights for this?,how much are they roughly?, and how many do u think i would need? Thanks for the info because i have only seen people talkin bout leds here and there, even looked at a pic or two on this site, but some sat its not the way to go, but if i can get some reliable information and it sounds good, ill go for it.
