Hello Everyone!

Haven't posted in a while so let's get to it.
I'm just about finished a new build problem is I can only run an extension cord to my shed. No other way around at my location.
I want to run 2 - 1000w hps in there. The plug I'm running it from has 30 amps so I'm plugged into an outside GFCI outlet to the shed. I am running 12 gauge to the shed as well. Can I just run a Suntream or titan 4 plug power panel to run my 2 lights. ???

For shits and giggles I ran my two nanolux off my contractor 15amp rated power bar and it kicked after 5 mins. But obviously I still had power at the extension cord still.

So will running the extension cord directly into a controller and running the lights work safely without kicking!!

Thanks for any and all sound advice everyone!!

You didn't say if your line was 240V. It needs to be so it can go the distance to the shed. Once you get your power out there, split it in a box where you have a couple of 120V circuits in addition to the 240V. Run your power controllers on 240 and your timers, fans and pumps on 120. Don't buy a power controller with a built in timer; you want the ones with trigger cords so if the timer fails, it doesn't ruin the whole box.

Replace the breaker with a two pole breaker and wire it with two hots and a ground then run your wiring to the shed and wire the plugs up.
Thanks you think I should get they dude on ebay selling g 50 bucks cap 8 light controller. Can you hook up less light to it like 5 light or 3 lights. Also when plugging cap in wall it says has to be220 so would be same as hooking up dryer idk please help you sound like you know what you doing is that even worth getting

You run 220v to the light controller to power the lights. The light controller will have a trigger cord that is plugged into a timer with 110v to control when the lights turn on and off.
You can plug in one light or all 8 or anything in-between
My 220v is coming down through the ceiling. The black cord hanging down on the right is the trigger cord that takes 110v and a timer

Yes

No
The 220v connects directly to the controller it does not have a plug.
220v cord is Grey directly to breaker in the panel.
110v cord is black and has a regular 110v plug already installed.

Hook a longer dryer cord to the controller, plug it into your dryer or stove outlet and run long power cords from the ballasts to the reflectors and controller. Ain’t ideal, but you work with what you’ve got. I cook with a toaster oven and hot plate because my stove and dryer outlets power the grow :eyesmoke:

So you just can cut dryer cord off a old dryer strip wires back connect to controller and plug into dryer outlet or stove 220 then make sure ballasts are on 220 on my ballasts has a plug in for 120 and 220 so plug all ballasts up to 220 then plug them in controller then off controller plug into timer and plug into 120 socket. Is this right so far I never did that and have all cap products I got off ebay cheap so I can run 1 or 8 1000 watt hps on the 1 8 controller plugged into a 220 am I right I hope been study your posts
