Need some advice.

This is the first time I’ve grown in 16 years and I only had one plant had no clue what I was doing and harvested maybe 1 oz. I really just need help with trichome clarification. I see a lot of cloudy trichomes on my chemdawg but would love for more opinions. This is week 5 day 37 of flower. Breeder says 7-9 weeks, I know this is under optimal conditions.2024-03-07-14-32-47-202.jpeg

Yeah I do, as I said I know not to take breeder word I’m no dummy. I’ve grown tropical plants for years now. Just most of my research on trichome life cycle says two weeks in between cloudy and amber and I just needed clarification if I’m seeing cloudy trichomes.
It's better to look at the development of the plant rather than trichs, which can change early for a variety of reasons.

Just wait and watch the hairs turn orange and start receding , then the buds will swell and become dense.
At that point you can look at trichs on buds, not leaves.

Notice the white hair on the plant, Using the overall look is much greater tell.
What you are looking for is the white hair to turn mostly orange and starting to curl up close to the bud with the color of trichs should be mostly cloudy little to no clear and around 10% amber.
Looking at your plant you have a lot of new growth on the buds thats indicated by new white hairs popping out.
Watch for this to slow down. I cant tell you how long you have left but I can tell you she isnt ready and looks like a couple more weeks at least.

That’s what I thought at least 2 weeks before the amber trichomes start to show up, as I heard time and time again when you think it’s ready, wait a week. Appreciate the info.

Yes that’s where I been looking and at multiple sites, it’s hard to get a steady shot zoomed in 200x I also have a 30/60 loop. I’m growing this for medical reasons I live in Ohio where we just got access to growing at home. I been a medical patient for 3 years and the program here is a joke.

Bruh ur doing good. A couple more weeks and chop. Wait till the hairs recede and the buds swell up.
the poeple saying you have a lot to learn are so unhelpful. Clearly he knows what he’s doing and asking the right questions.
Make sure to look at the trichomes at the buds and not the sugar leaves.

Same ordered mine from the attitude I think days after, by time it was “legal” I had like one week old plants. I’m hoping we have a cannabis cup here like Michigan does.

Yeah make sure its everything your watching ignore any ambers on leafs tho they tend to amber early vs the buds alot of folks make that mistake and your on track just dont cut early

Try the uk where im at meant to be medical since 2018 but there isnt unless its private prescription and its garbage weed and over priced anyone after real medicine has to grow and break the law pretty much same as there it sounds like

Breeders time means nothing just a recommendation usually never right. When checking trichomes want to scope a piece of bud when close. I like 80 percent cloudy and the rest clear. More amber could make you sleepy. When calaxes are full and pistols receiding then scope a piece of bud. Really got to look at all factors and you will know when the more you grow.

Yeah we just got it legalized to grow at home here. Had to fight for meds at the dispo, and then the strain would be gone in two days leaving you guessing what strain would work next.
