My plants have been on 12/12 light cycle in bloom for 10 days. Lights are on 12 hours during the day and goes off at 8pm. However the temperature in the grow room is currently climbing to 89F as we are approaching summer. i am considering changing the cycle around to have the lights on at night when the outside temperature is cooler to control some of the temperature issues in the grow room. I cannot do this gradually as it will take to long and the heat is a big problem. Can I switch the plants over in once go i.e let the lights stay on one day for 24 hours and then switch back to the 12/12 cycle? How will this affect the bloom process? Urgent Urgent advice and guideline please - new grower - first grow.

Just leave the lights off until you want them to actually cycle. You should have no problems. An extended dark period often encourages even stronger bud growth.

Ok so I should extend the dark period not the light period - Thanks - would have kept the lights on for an additional 12 hours.

You don't have to do it at one time either. You can do a few hours a day until switched if it makes you more comfortable.
