Neem Oil as Systemic

I have been doing tons of research on a bug prevention program. I posted in this section asking for other ppl's programs but unfortunately I didn't get and responses. I really believe that this could be very beneficial for many of us here trying not to use toxic chemicals. These chemicals are definitely not the answer. They are polluting our environment and causing resistant insects and that spells trouble for us all. I will admit I am guilty of using chemicals, but only when I have absolutely no choice. This is why I am trying to come up with an effective program of prevention.

I am thinking about using cold pressed neem oil or azamax as a root drench so that it goes systemic and my plants basically become repulsive to leaf sucking insects (mainly spider mites and thrips although I am thinking it should take care of everything). So far I have been able to find two studies pointing to the beneficial effects of using neem oil as a systemic (one from the canadian government on trees). I found some information suggesting to water once per week for four weeks.

I am also thinking about adding sm-90 for its added benefits of insect control, as well as, its beneficial effects on the roots.

I would like to know if anyone else has used neem oil as a root drench and can attest to its systemic benefits. If so what was your rate of application?? I would also like to know if anyone has used sm-90 for bug control and if its systemic properties work in the same way to repel insects.

Any information at all from anyone who has used these products would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Good to hear that the sm-90 was helpful. There was a rumour that sm-90 kills all bacteria but apparently it only kills anaerobic bacteria. I use mosquito dunks already and would like to keep them in my prevention program (they are aerobic so it should be just fine, just a little side note I discovered through research).

Any information you can give on that product that thickens the cell walls would be great, thank you for the reply.
