Negatives of fan constantly on plants?

I have a question.

I have been growing some and i have had a fan constantly blowing on the plants.. It blows the co2 and the humidity from the humidifier onto the plants. The fan i use is a small clip on fan for like desks or something..

So my question is... What negative effects could this have had and/or possibly have in the future.

Well i really would like some one to help me out with some insight here.....

thanks

considering that nature would potentially not give the plants a break, i see no problem with air circulation and stress on the plant stalks...

The reason growers use oscilating fans is because a constant fan on a plant causes the leaves to dehydrate and be unhealthy. It doesnt need a wind tunnel, just a breeze that rotates around a room.

i put my plant on the side of my plant where the fan blade isnt actually pointing at the plant but just sitting behind or infront of it from the side just so it gets enough to where i see its letting the plant get a little sway to it

i think its just curled and dried out on the leafs for wind burn
this man knows what he speaks. An oscillating fan is best but if yours doesn't then just point it at the wall and let the wind roll around the room.

If you want to know what wind burn looks like...get a decent size fan turn it on high, point it right on one plant and see what she looks like in 4-5 days. lol :dunce:

Id assume if you have high enough humidity direct air from a fan to a plant wouldnt dry it out enough to cause wind damage. But I dont know what that humidity point would have to be.

i keep 3 fans at all times on my plants none oscilating and the plants love it
Must be pretty weak fans??

I have an industrial size floor fan and I wouldn't subject my plants to that wind tunnel!!

I agree they like to be moved but there is a point where there is just too much wind.

I love my plants so much I breathe on them for co2 and make trickling water sounds for them so they can hear the calming sounds of nature. Their water is Perier 1/2 carbonation and on sundays I take them for a ride in the convertable. People just put a fan on your plants!!!

i dont know if i would put it directly on the plants, might be ok if the fan isnt industrial, like a PC fan. but i wouldnt put anything directly on them in my opinion, espically during flowering or while sexing...if you dont see a pollen sack and the winds blowing on them when they open up *taking you dont catch it* the winds gonna pollenate all your shit id think. just keep a breeze by em and play it safe, no need for the whole plant to in contact with direct wind, i usually just rotate my plants around to where the weaker stems of the plant are moving. hope this helps :D

i have had to keep my fans blowing for the full 12 hours when the lights on to keep the temp down, thear just blowing lightly and the plants seem fine.

I fought wind burn for a couple weeks.

It took me so long to figure it out because it looked like my nutes were too hot and I didnt think about the fan being directly on them. I had my a/c blowing on the top of the canopy to compensate for the (2) 1000's I was trying to get as close as possible to the plants. My temp was fine so I know it was not heat burn. After messing with my nutes and ph several times before I asked my buddy if it is a possibility of wind burning them, he said yes. So I set the a/c to oscillate just above the canopy and within a couple days the plants were healthier.

I had quite a bit of wind on them constantly. The stem was fine but the leaves were yellowing and looked a little dry. Mostly it was the yellowing that was apparent and brought concern. This is what I would look for.

i use thrre fans at all times lights on and off one is blowin directly on the tops its a 12 in fan it puts out alot of air on low, also below the plants blowin straight up the skirts is a 10 in fan on blowin on the girls directly on low this fan alos produces alot of wind. then i have a 24 in fan blowin air direcly on the middle of all the plants all day every day this fan is on leval mediium so alot of wind and my girls love it nature doesnt ever take a break so why should we. also if u think about it their is always a consatnt breeaze on outdoor plants always, theri is no such thing as no wind at all. use fan if u have to they dont have to be oscliating all though they are better just put your fans on the lwoer settings and itll be fine i cant beleive this is even a topic
