So I'm assuming that there aren't many solutions for 200+ watt single chip configurations? Interesting, I'm really wanting to replace a 315w CDM that I have with a single COB using the same reflector. Looking into how to make that possible.

Any thoughts on the Luna cobs vs citizen at the moment? Do you know if any of the flip chip Apollo series is available?

Thanks for your time, it's much appreciated.

Dunno how well the same reflector would work out, unless it's a vertical mount OG type. And you know me, I'm a confirmed lensman. (Insert gratuitous obscure sci-fi reference. Success!)

It is actually an old school vertical parabolic, 36" variety which have become impossible to find. It's actually about ideal for a single high powered cob.

@bicit are you in the US? You could easily turn that reflector into your light fixture. One option if you want Citizen, is the CLU550 with an HLG-240-2100b and a Coolbay tera. Hole saw in the top and 4 small hole for mounting. Same thing with the Luna 300 on a 320 watt heat sink driven by a HLG-240-48b.

Sounds promising, then! FWIW, I bet an OG hood would also work pretty well.

This little guy, probably wouldn't even need a hole saw in order to fit it, just a few through holes for joining the heatsink and reflector together. Not to hate on the CDM or anything, but the ring from the bulb offends my senses and I can't stand it :P

I'd rather see a big old heat sink or something on top.

Question, with the CLU550 and the HLG-240 would each circuit be ran in parallel off the single driver? Or are you proposing a 240H on each circuit?

can we see ?
Pictures don't do it justice, not by a long shot. Just so you're aware :P

50 320 watt heat sinks coming my way and 10 4'x 8' sheets of hammered aluminum reflector material ( Anolux-MIRO® - PVD Aluminum Ehanced® 95% reflective).:bigjoint:
Next question is, what are you using to cut your reflector material down to size?

Last night I finished a less efficient, but higher per power Veg light. It is running 2 Luna 300 5000K @ 330 watts each. I only have 5 Amp fuses, but I thought " fuck it, so what if the fuse blows". I threw it on a watt meter and slowly turned it up and to my surprise, 6+ Amps and no pop. The light has been running @ 660 watts all night. This worries me a little. Would it be better for me to leave it this way or run a fuse 1 amp over full draw?

That fuse will go sooner or later if you're running it over its rating. IME, it's always at the very most inconvenient possible time, because Murphy is an asshole like that, lol

At 10:00 pm I didn't feel like breaking into radioshack for 2 fuses. Maybe tonight though.
I am thinking each plant might be 3' wide and 7' tall in I use heavier reds the first 2 week. So that is 21 square feet per plant and I think I will run 3 COB's per plant @ around 125 watts each. That would put me under 20 watts per square foot. This run is going through the hottest time of the year, so I don't want to be over 2500 watts in lighting.
