hello!
Guys can call me rilla or shake either works. So I've come here with some basic ideas and thoughts to bounce of your knowledgable minds. I've been out of the green thumb word for awhile now. My previous ventures were rowdy and pretty wreckless. Now that some years have passed and I've grown wiser I still have that itch. I love green thumbing. My old place I didn't worry about scent or anything really. Now I've moved into a small trailer like community lol. I've considered many options. Superclosets, bcboxes, growgreenusa, making my own box or room. Or going the tent route. I previously used tents. I tried at first to contain the smell and it kind got out of hand. Ex wife left at the same time so I have zero fucks. Now in my new spot I have a rather large closet that used to be the master bath. My gals clothes will be on one side. id say the room is 15x10. I'm only looking for something like 4x4 or 5x5. I don't even know where to begin.
(Box,tent,wood)
????
(Lights)
I like solistek 1k but 6 would be cool if I could produce. I've also considered leDs but it seems like smoke and mirrors everywhere
(Medium)
I always grew in dirt previously with additives. But I'm not against switching to a new method.
(ODOR CONTROL/HEAT)
Odor odor odor is my biggest worry. I have a complete green light if I can make this and odorless venture. Yes I know opening the tent touching them. Lollipoping and all that will funk the place up. But how can I just make this a smell free zone? I can have it soaking into clothes she'd kill me. God I wish I would got a pad with an attached garage lol. Any and all help and input would be super cool. I've got hundreds of beans that need popping lol

Tent or make your own room. What ever you do you have a containment that you can ventilate. You have a fan pulling exhaust out a bit higher than the intake side which brings in fresh air.
You get a 600 preferably air cooled . Heat is a motherfucker.

Then you either use soil or figure out if you want to study up on aero or dwc or other hydro method.
Do a scrog to maximize your space

So let's say I run a big inline into a fresh filter sucking air out blowing into the filter (they claim it works). Using the bottom of the tent holes as air passive intakes. Cool tube with a small duct fan to move the air over the tube. Winter would be fine it's this summer heat that's brutal. I also considered a dryer style vent for all my scrubbed air. But the worry of it failing and throwing Dank stank everywhere sketches me out. I don't know. I suffer from ocd and some other conditions. And I obessss over the details. I had lighthouse tents last go so I'd like to move up. Poor light leakage and scent holding

I run a 9x5.5 tent. I have an ac that exhaust the room but it would be the same with a fan in the grow room.

So I run a long duct So i have 2 cheapo inlines. 200 cfm or so. Plus a big 420 cfm and all that ends at the phresh filter. No smell at all. However the line I run to cool the lights started picking up smell because I added a vented hood that's cheap. (Cool tube didn't have a prob. )

So I bought a tee and put it into the filter as well. Zero smell.

But I have the same concern as you So i bought a commercial ozone generator. About 80 bucks. Make sure to get one with hold option and not just a timer.

So ozone isn't the safest for occupied rooms. For me I exhaust into a room not used by humans .

But anyway, if you want to be secure.like I do then you have that o3 generator and if the filter fails you have a security over lap.

You could even put nit right in the room. It will rob your plants of aroma and maybe taste but it's a worst case scenario

I bought the cheapest tent on ebay that was the size I needed. Close to 9x5.5x 6 foot high.the direction were shit but it wasn't hard to figure out.
The zipper windows are fucked from the beginning. Off track and shit.

The main zippers to open the side I use are cool. No real light leaks. It keeps a slight negative pressure. No smell at all in the room that the tent is in. Until i open it. Lol

So cool to hear that the phfresh works for you. I really want the 5x5 gorilla grow tent. Pump it all into the phresh. The closet is attached to the master bedroom and I know ozone isn't the best. So maybe I could seal the door up a bit better. Have that go off a few times a day. Now I have to figure out what type of power the room can handle with all these gadgets. I'd probably say 1k on the ballast just because. What if ya know haha. I know the solisteks I used previously came in 220 and 110 I think. That room should handle that with some fans and a small veg area.

I'm in the 9×5 and I'm fighting heat with 2x600. So keep that in mind. Maybe you can pull your air from an air conditioned space? I pull from outside.

Mine are a mess right now but next will be properly topped and scrogged.

But definitely heat is a bastard. I'm almost 90 degree days outside and I've got it down to about 79 with lights on. 65 lights out.
That's with 14000 btu and lights pulling tent air through and out. But I'm pulling outdoor air in so if you can run duct to a different room with ac......

Ps. You can do this. You're assistant to the manager
I wish I could pull in but winter get way cold here. I'd shock em bad lol. I've been looking around at leds too to cut the heat issue. Just have to find one to trust if I went that route lol fact farming beets is a lot like farming the devils lettuce.

So this is the area. The small cab is my water heater. I was looking around in it today and wondered if sealing it and running just the hot air from the cool tube into that can would be a good idea. It already vents outside I would just have to pop hole in the drywall. Yes I know this side of the room is a disaster. But we all have a collection spot lol

Don't discount the possibility that your light will pick up odor.
I think the danger is if you disrupt the air flow and the vent gasses get in the house and kill u

Not to insult your intelligence but when I got the portable ac I wasn't even thinking about the exhaust from it at first.

I run a duct from the duct that comes with it. I don't want to kill the motor with back pressure so I added to 200 cfm fans to it because in all I probably go 25 -30 feet to the phresh filter.
I would highly recommend that you get a 14000 btu from walmart.Com or something.
Even with the 14000 I'm still fighting. They just aren't as good as window units.

I am going round and round with your ideas in my head for a few minutes,, everything about your grow ideas is pretty solid, the carbon filters work well, we can go over long term carbon filter maintenence, but you should get a good 6 months from a brand new phresh filter, i personally use the cheaper filters from ebay and amazon,, and recharge them when needed,, carbon is cheap,,,,
ANYWAYS
I cant in good faith say to you that your gal's clothing is going to stay smelling normal, everytime you open your tent/cab/box its going to fill that space with dank smell,, especially late in flower,
so what to do about it
i was thinking a double door , double space,, meaning a tent inside of a tent,, or a tent inside of wood walls you put up,, so that way you unzip or open the door,, you step in,, you rezip or close the door behind you, then you open the grow tent/cab and do your work, tend to the plants ect,, that way all smell is trapped, also all light is really trapped,, you run your exhaust thru the vents from both tents, also the door way or entrance tent can serve as a storage space for all your stuff
go with soil,, keep it simple your brining water into your closet, far less chance of a flood or water soaked carpet ,,

also, if you can cut a hole in the top of the closet, and run your exhaust tubing thru that hole and up into the attick,, if you put your carbon filter in your grow tent and suck air thru it then thru the fan and out the tube and into the attick, your closet will never have any smell, any that does leak would leak into the attick and not the closet,, and then the double door takes care of smell when your tending the grow,,

I didn't even think about the ducting part of the AC. Didn't take it wrong no worries I'm asking and bouncing ideas around. Some will be odd and far fetched lol. I have a massive window unit I could use in the bedroom and leave the connecting door open. I'm sure that would help a ton. We only have a few hot months so it's not a huge worry. Last winter the closet closed got cold as shit even with the water heater in it.

Yeah definitely going the gigantic phresh route. I haven't seen a bad review on them. The clothes thing is an issue. Part of me just wants to seperate the two sides of the room. If my first try fails she'll let me know I'm sure if I need too. I'll honestly say I'm not good with drywall and wood lol. I wish we could build like a 420 friendly electric/contractor list I'd love vent into an attic but living in a trailer I don't get much as far as attic.

you dont need wood or drywall to put a tent inside of a tent
