new box

ok first of all I have had like NO cash to start this grow so if I get a yield at all it will be better than nothing. lol But i took apart some crappy looking lamps and got the fixtures out of them and rewired them (the lamps were old and i didnt wanna get zapped by old wires). I have 3 compact fluorescent bulbs in use right now that i got from a dollar general store. I have 2 65 watt bulbs and 1 15 watt bulb all wired to separate plugs so i can turn them off and on individually. I mounted all 3 hanging into a Tupperware container and wrapped it with foil (dull side receiving light.
I punched a hole in the lid for circulation and also suspended the lid about an inch off of the container so its unsealed. I put some seedlings in a transparent plastic bowl in the grow box.
about how many lumen's am I getting from these bulbs and how do i deffer that?
once i find out wich lil shrinkos are male and female im going to get rid of the males and grow only the most promising female in the main container tied down horizontally since the container isnt very deep but it is fairly long..... .
also i have flowered plants about a foot tall before but what are you guys thoughts on flowering before then? Is it POSSIBLE to flower a 6 or 7 in plant even though the harvest would be near nothing ( i want to experiment with variables in bud size and potency myself)?

Do you have a fan running in the box? If not, you need one

I Agree with ILoveUMaryJane. You should rig a little computer fan in a side of the box at least.

yeah thats the next thing im gonna add to the thing, i know it needs one because the air is pretty stale but i dont have any spare cash right now so its gonna be either the day after tommorrow or 5 days from now depending on cash flow. Like I said, I have spent NO money on this thing so its riding by pothead ingunity so far

since the whole inside of the box is reflective do i really need any type of deflector housings behind the bulbs? and how many lumens per foot am i cranking out?

Hey take a look at my setup for ideas I've spent a grand total of 37 bucks.

mine has been free so far. I decided not to use the box idea. it has too much hassel to it, so i made all four bulbs into one big lamp with a common reflector. i made the reflector with achristmas cookie tin and cut some 2 liter bottles to make the side walls of the reflector and covered them in aluminum foil untill I get the money for some mylar. The thing is bright as hell and puts out a lot of light in a 6-8in area. Im not sure how to calculate how many lumens it actually is putting out though. Im going to go get some pictures of it now, so thell be up soon.
