ok i never grew in anything but soil and have some questions. I was tired of having a 30%+ death rate on my clones so i bought an ez cloner. so im needing some info. main questions are, what do i do with the pump? - plug it in and run it 100% of the time or on for 1 min off for 5 min? and is there anything benificial to ad to thesolution in the res?

Hey ya SD,

I don't have an EZ Cloner, but do have a cloner based on the same principle, the Daisy Cloner. The instructions with the Daisy were to run the pump continuously for clones and to add a rooting solution to the water or dip your clones in a cloning powder or gel.

I got the Daisy 3 weeks ago and was satisfied that 6 of the 8 clones rooted. 3 of them rooted within 5 days. My old method may have rooted 1 or 2.

After getting it though, I went to Lowes and Walmart and built a diy cloning setup for about $65. The pump is the most expensive piece of the system.

Good luck with your cloning. I think you'll like it.....a lot.

i recently built up my own cloner similar to the one you got i keep mine on 24/7 just make sure you have all the nutes right keep the ph levels and the ec levels right and build it up slow i take four weeks in building my clones for my hydro system i go from 0,8 EC to 1,2 EC the fourth week and of course add some good rooting solution.
