New double 4x8. Suggestions?

So. 1st post. New to RIU and growing.
I have 2 4x8 tents for flower that I’m currently setting up
1 2x4 tent for veg
4 1000w hps
Some amazon LEDs for the veg that my friend said I should get because he used them and had good results for veg just not great for flower
Strain is cookies and runts
I have a ton of 1 gal grow bags and filling them with coco
Planing on doing the fill drain thing in 3x6 flood tables
Anybody have a rough estimate on how much weight I should pull? Or any other input? Also open to other methods of growing just don’t want to do soil.
Thank you for any feedback.

Your going to need a bigger veg space at somepoint.
You can get some metal halide bulbs for your 1000w ballasts though and veg in the big tents for now.

If you pull 1.5lb per 1000w for the first several grows your doing ok.
Later pull 2+ lb per light when you have more experience.

I also have some closet space about 5x5 that can be used for veg too
It’d be nice if I could get a perpetual going roughly 1#/2wks or so. Is that thinking too big or rushing it?
Another question I had was about ventilation.
I have a 10” maxfan and a 10x40 canlite filter. Kinda thought that might be overkill but the filter was free so said why not.
Is it possible to use the one filter for both 4x8 tents?

You’ll get nute build up with flood and drain especially with coco . You Could use a DTW i personally don’t have any run off .i use a drip system I made 50 plants on a table SOG on 6x3 table . With indoor you really don’t want to be sitting around too much . SOG is king fill that table up and flip get a good mother and have trays of clones available to fill the tables

Just a few days (3-5) to let roots settle in and that’s it theyll grow a lot, there first few weeks of flower . My pump turns on for about 10 min every other day and it feeds them about 16 oz each watering . As they get bigger and drink more I will add time or more days/watering . While those are flowering you have 2 months to take a tray of clones usually about 50 clones . Pick your best thriving clones and trash the rest then ,Repeat . I will take more pics of my drip system so you can see . No breaking your back or re arranging plants . Just work from the reservoir

Get a couple nice mothers and focus on making clones to fill your tables to keep it moving . Otherwise your going spend a lot of unnecessary/unrewarding time on vegging in the hopes you pull decent weight . SOG is fool proof also go with 4 hps no led if power is a concern do 4 600s . 2 600 over 4x8 is nice I like 2 800 tho over 4x8 but 1200watts for 4x8 will be fine especially sog . When you increase the wattage it’s more for penetration and in SOG you don’t really need deep penetration because all your growing is top nugs

The led was only going to be for veg and only in the small tent not in the 4x8s. But maybe I’ll just grab a cmh for the mother tent then if they won’t work.
I’m keeping the 1ks though. I don’t see the point in getting lower wattage lights for flower...

The only way you could use one filter in two 4x8s is to push through the filter sucking through a Y into duct from both tents and I really really don't recommend you do that, you have 4k in lighting, no way you can get away with not venting the heat out properly.
Would never recommend that method unless someone lived in Alaska and needed to keep the heat in the house.

You will need to be venting all that heat out properly , its possible your 10" fan might be enough to vent both tents but you would need two filters, one for each tent.
If you choose to do it that way then it goes like this

10" filter in each tent > duct joins to Y splitter > duct to fan> duct out of fan out the window or up chimney.

Each filter must be the same size and cfm and each length of duct must be roughly equal , that way the air is split evenly between the tents because the resistance is equal.

Normally I would say use a filter and fan for each but you have the 10" fan already so your not losing anything by buying the extra filter and best case the 10" fan is enough and your good, worst case you have to buy an extra fan.

Should I switch the 10x40 for two smaller ones?

I’d do 2 separate if your doing a prepetual if it’s just 1 big 1 at a time just get the big 1 . Very important !! Very important . Keep it very clean cut basic and simple . Simple is the name of the game . Don’t over guess your self get stars trucked by these pamphlets at the hydro store with new tech and what not . Kept it simple and basic lights , space ,plants , irrigation and execute . I spent the first 6 years of my growing venture wasting tons of money on the “holy grail” “new” blah blah shit . Just stick to basics and kill it !

My 2 cents.
It takes me 2- 8" 720cfm fans along with 2 air cooled hoods (cooled with a separate 6") to get my 2x- 1000w hps temps under control in my 4x8.
My basement ambient temp is 68F.

Thank you. Do I have to have a filter for cooling the lights?
If you dont want the exhaust to smell yes.
You dont have to cool the lights separately. I only do because I cool 4 lights with the one fan drawing cool air from another room that I vent the exhaust outside my house to get rid of all the heat from the bulbs. So I really don't want any smell for mine. (Non legal state here).

I live in a legal state. The smell is really just so my tenants don’t have to smell it all the time. Even though they all smoke. Haha
