thanks! this is my second indoor grow and through that experience and countless minutes spent on RIU ive started figuring things out.
the tallest one was used as a control compared to the LST plants so i could see an untopped, unbent plant. it wont stunt the growth in the buds if i bend it this late in the game?
i honestly figured id get maybe 3 females out of all these. im pleasantly surprised, we'll see how this one goes!

i just took this picture today, the last one was a couple days old (and we all know that makes a difference)

i only have about 7 inches of length between my cfls and the tallest less than 1 week after i put em in flower. im either gonna have to bend her, or kill her :-(

Wha? An elbow off 6 plants in a 3 X 2 space with just under 6 ft of height? I don't care if you could manage a 1000 w HPS in there. No way an elbow, no matter the strain
used. Consider that that it's regarded as over the top to get anywhere near 400 grams (Lb = 448 gr.) per sq meter under ideal conditions. Not possible in that box.
one sq. foot per plant........420, i totally agree....+ rep

Nah, at this early stage bending that taller one won't affect things a bit. Even into the early bloom stage it's common for growers to bend or train the tops and branches to keep an even canopy of tops. But it is true that after about mid way through the bloom it's best to leave the plants undisturbed altogether. Generally while in the veg stage you can get away with just about any sort of manipulation to the plants. But once well into flowering, the growth pattern changes and they can't spring back to finish like they would if untouched from that point on.

Wow! They're cruisin' along. Those taller ones are definitely blocking out the shorter ones from needed light. Go ahead and carefully bend 'em back and use a twisty-tie (or two to three tied together, which is easier than string in my opinion) to hold the top down, anchored off a lower branch. With CFLs you can and ought keep the bulbs just 3"-4" off the tops of the plants. They run cool enough that they won't burn or hurt the plants. And the plants will certainly respond positively with faster and more robust growth as a result.

Just to be different, id say leave it sideways. Throw a nice led in, blackstar 240 minimum and put it on a light rail. BAM! Or just go with 2 LEDs. You are going to have some heat issues to sort out either way. And about 30 holes to cover lol

I would go with a couple of 400 watt tubes and a big fan to cool them. Be careful to rig them so that it can easily be raised and lowered, perhaps even independently if your gonna run 2 crops @ once.

You may also want to consider using less CFL's and putting them closer to the plants in your veg area.

i had them raised when they were in veg for a while until i repotted them and didnt bother to find anything that would fit in there.
either way im pretty happy with the growth, the nodes are tight and i know im gonna see them explode soon!
im really out of space though, i figure the maximum # of plants i should really have in there are 3.

ok i just built this box yesterday. Its 5 1/2feet long, 3feet high, and about 2feet deep of growing space. What i wanna know from yall is what exactly am i gonna need for lights(2 250watt, 2 400watt, 1 1000watt system?) and a proper ventilation system? Input is necessary please help!

i allreay cut some holes in it for fans.... Why i dont know but i did anyway, at least i can use some for cords or something and cover the other holes up that aren't necessary.
this box has been tested and kitty approved!:bigjoint:
idk but ur kitten is soo cute

I would section off a smaller portion with its own door and use cfls for clones then use two aircooled 150s for $65 a piece and harvest a plant or two every week as long as you clone

ok so i did something i probably shouldn't, but i couldn't stand my other option of cutting 2 other plants out of my other box o i just getto riged something up in that big cab and put them in there. i got 2 75watt hps clip on lights an 1 27 watt cfl clip on in there with a fan shoved in that bitch.

Thats halogen not hps from what i can see only only 600lums the links i put up are true 70watt hps kits and bulbs check them out man true 70hps put out around 6300lums;-)Also you can find any wattage ballast kit you could dream up on that site and cfls.
cool thanks man for clearing that up for me, ill check those out.
the big box was working fine but the 2 plants i had in there grew balls on me. its a shame that was the only one i fully scrogged, so now i only have 2 boxes running, 3 confirmed females in the small box and 2 hairy thangs in the medium one.
im planning on repotting them because by the looks of it its getting tight in there.

B:

thats where theyre at now.

also, im thinking i want to get 3 150 watt hps from htgsupply for my unfinished cab. as far as fans, im thinking either 2 4inch inline fans or a few 6inch clip on fans. im figuring about 2 months and 300 bucks will go into making this into a pot haven..
im about to take a hardlook at those links though, seem to be relatively cheap. so thanks!!:joint:

honestly, before going out and investing a few hundred on 150w HPS lights that you will never use again, why not just modify your box?

Make your box 5 or 6 feet tall, and then invest in proper gear, 600w hps, inline fan, etc.
You're starting too small, and trust me from experience, you're going to be spending a lot more money in the long run if you start out buying 150w HPS lights to fill that little box.

edit: or just buy a 4 foot t5 light and scrog in there. a t5 has about a foot of decent penetration and realistically, unless you get a new box, that's all the space you'll have

man i cant do that.. its not possible for the area i have available. this box is what im working with; no flipping, no cutting it up, nothing.
ive looked up the t5s and they will not provide enough light for what im gonna do with it. i can fit either 8 lowryders or i can scrog / lst 3 plants.
if i really find the hps to not fit my needs, ill start my tomato plants in there.
its hard to take advice from every ganja master on here.. everyone else has said this is the best way to utilize my space. itll be $300 of well spent money

here is an update, so next week im buying my first light and Inline fan and some 4in 25foot Ducting. ive been doing a lot of research on light to space ratio and it seems like the only way i could use this box for growing Cannabis effectively would be 3 150hps lights with cooling hoods attached to an 4inc inline fan ( and another inline pumping air in at the base of the box) sucking the heat out of the hoods. and i think im gonna run like 8-10 feminized autos in there to maximize the possible yield.i can get all of this at HTGsupply and delivered for less than $300.
heres an update on the other guys: i repotted the 1 on the left but ran out of dirt to repot the other guy. she took ver well to the other pot it was like she never moved.

a couple of hairs starting on them both

curious as to why your getting 3 x 150w HPS's in there... that's 450w total, why not just get 1 x 400w HPS in a cool tube, save space and money a 400w in a cool tube with an inline fan will probs cost you around £180 roughly $200 or so (my conversion is wack), that's what I'm doing and by the looks of it my cab is roughly the same size as yours check it out in my sig. I'm confident that I can control temps in it and I'm going to do ScrOG.

Actually looking at it your space is way bigger than mine XD

My recommendation would be to go with the 400w HPS in a cool tube and mount it along the depth so that the extraction is out the back and do a dished ScrOG... I don't know how better to describe how to put the light, something like this:

_________________ (top of cab front on view)
|-----------O-----------| (Light)

ignore the dashes XD
