New Grow for an Old Grower

Here is the setup. My basement is 1500 square feet. These rooms take up about 320 square feet. Room are invisible. The only way in is through a trap door on the first floor of my house. I move furniture and pull back the carpet. It really is a thing of beauty. Pics will follow when my seeds sprout.

Lights: 1000w switchable (Sunleaves Pulsar 2.0 Two-way) MH/HPS for veg and flower, 400w MH (also a Sunleaves Pulsar) for moms and random vegging.

Veg room is 10X10 but will be using approximately 5X5 of the space, primarily for moms and clones.

Flower room is 15X12 but will only be using enough space for the 1000w fixture.

I used to fill the 15X12 space to the brim when I had 4-1000w HPS lamps running. I have taken a couple years off and now just plan to grow under the single 1000w for my heads, and the heads of my mates.

I plan to do SOG with approximately 16 or so in 3gal pots under the single 1000w. I will veg them with a 1000w MH bulb for a week to 10 days then switch the bulb to a 1000w HPS (Hortilux Eye) for flowering.

I will have one Power 20 oscillating fan in the veg room and two Power 20s in the flower room. These fans move some serious air. Holmes Air rules.

I have a Sunleaves ArcticSun reflector for the 1000w bulb. It has built-in 6" flanges. I will use a 6" Hurricane fan to cool the light. For the 400w MH I have a Sunleaves Sunspot reflector, not planning on air cooling it unless necessary.

Ventilation: There is a room between the rooms which is about 6X7. In this room there will be an 8" 483cfm Can Fan/Filter (carbon) combo venting to the outside. Both the veg and flower rooms have passive intakes with the fresh air coming from the basement. Each room has a 6" 250cfm duct fan pulling air from the rooms into the middle room and then eventually outside via the Can Fan/Filter combo.

Flowering soil is a mixture of Fox Farms Planting Mix, Ocean Forest, Planting Mix and Big & Chunky Perlite with Peace of Mind Fruit and Flower and Starter Food. I water with plain water, no nutes, pH'd at 6.3-6.5. The pH for this mix stays pretty much in that range... it was designed to do so. The veg soil for moms and such will be the same, minus the Fruit and Flower, then hitting with Fox Farms Grow Big and Big Bloom as necessary.

I will eventually add co2 supplementation when I have the money to do it right. For now I will simply spend a lot of time in the room during the day cycle... me and my tonkinese cat Yoshi.

I soaked 10 Blue Dynamite seeds in water for 24hrs, then planted them two days ago into Fox Farms Light Warrior in plastic cups and put them under a 4' shop light with two 40w 6500k bulbs. I will supplement with cfl's after they have sprouted, then move to the 400w MH and eventually to the 1000w. When my babies peek out their heads I will grace you all with pics.

Peace

a few minutes ago i checked the seeds... dug down in the soil, thought i had buried them too deep... any more than a half inch is not necessary. 7/10 blue dynamite seeds have tap roots diggin in. im sure the other three will follow in a day or two. i remember this... trying to resist the temptation to check them every 3 seconds. its about 78 degrees in the room.

I know y'all love pics and I PROMISE when the girls poke out from the soil i will post pics of the setup, which should be in a day or two. at least i hope they are all girls. the space is a work in progress. as the seedlings grow i will be adding fans, ventilation, different lights, etc. when i start posting pics i will post a few each day if possible.

my first post was inaccurate with regard to the flowering soil mix. i mentioned FF planting mix twice. its one bag of each planting mix, light warrior, ocean forest, then 5gal big & chunky perlite, 1 cup Peace of Mind Fruit and Flower and 1/2 cup Starter Food.
