Hi all going to build a new grow room using cool room panels. As I have not used these before just looking for a few ideas. I will be using up to 15x600 hps and 4x12 inch fans. The size of the grow room will be 6 metres long 3 metres across and 2,4 metres high. It will be a run to waste system with coco 10x50 litre pots as I do like to grow them big. Been looking at the prices of the panels it works out at $42 a panel for 2.4x950 and the door is $600 so it work out $1600 for the room. The room will look like this but a lot bigger so any ideas or feed back would be helpful coolroom_display_outside_www_masda_com_au.jpg

I've been toying with that idea myself. I know of factory that has a shitload of it outside, plan on calling them up and making an offer unless there's a reason not too....

Yes I agree with you on that the door is a bit pricey. I will be going down and having a look at the company that make them
And see if it will be easy to fit it my self. If I buy door for $600 it will be all fitted to a panel

Are they a form of insulated panels? What are the advantages? wont they just make a grow space hotter?
Actually no, insulation of any form can maintain more consistent temps and won't fluctuate your temps with the outside weather. I built my room so just insulated with traditional materials and a lot cheaper but these panels would make building a room quick/easy and if they're white ready to go with no painting or the like.

Yes they are insulated panels the advantage I am hoping for is that it will make the room more stable. With a good controller in there and big fans it should help with the cold and the heat. This will be my forth room I have up and running hoping to be the best one

I can vouch for a properly insulated room. Temp fluctuations and extreme weather are nowhere near what they were before I fully insulated the room. Now I can grow summer or winter and turning a variable controller to bring more cool air in (summer) or heat in winter is all I have to do to "dial-in".

Thanks coreywebster I will keep you dated. As for GroErr I think you are spot on that is what I was hoping to hear, As I will be growing in large shed I was a little bit concerned with the heat and the cold

Be careful on the used stuff. One reason companies get rid of them is insect infestation and mold. I worked in a couple food processing facilities and the nastiness that quality control found in those walls came right out of a Stephen king novel. Free stuff always has me worried.

Yeah I'm not in the market but good point. Like anything used, some risk involved. They'd make a build quicker I like the idea, may look at them again if I'm building another room.

Hey Bryan,

Was looking at building out a room also.

Do you have a link of where your thinking about buying your panels/door from?

Have you Considered exactly how you will be building it?

I looked at refrigerated shipping containers.
Thy sell them after the refrigeration needs replacement.
So there effectively there just insulated containers.
Not sure if you can get it in to your "shed".

Unfortunately it won't fit in my space.
So I have to build it in my area.
Love your panel idea.

I think its one of the cheapest. Once you start to getting things made up its just so dear.
I was looking at bonder kit coolrooms but they are so dear
