this is my new setup with 2 4ft 40watt 2700k overhead and 9 26watt 5600k cfls. i have them on 12/12 so that they will start to flower which is why i added the 2700k on top. will they still flower like this?

honestly i dont understand you guys...you almost running 400 watts already and your not going to get the best results invest in a 400w hps...its going to run the saame amout of hydro....bu the time you spen money on all the bulbs and ballasts or hoods and shades for them you could get a 400w used or buy one new for like under 150....honestly whats the point in having like 12 bulbs when you can have one...think about it......

its only a 6o or 70 dollar setup. i do admit that buying all the lil clamps lights were a pain in da ass but the cfl's were only ten for $4 and the entire overhead was $18. the only expensive part was the clamps. and i dont want to spend hundreds of dollars to run one bulb.

they havnt ever stretched since theyve been under cfl's. i had about 20 of them under 4 26watt cfls and they grew to 2ft with no stretch. i just added the other cfls 2 weeks ago.

Too much space consumption, too much wires(electric hazard), and they must get in the way when watering?????In the long wrong its cost more labor ,and convenience, overall efficiency cutting corners...... just spend a couple more bucks less hassle......probably better yield........... just my opinion.........goodluck!

i have all the wires twisty tied together and i have a really long necked wine bottle that i water them with so its not that bad. its jus been alot easier to throw 20 bucks every once and a while to get 2 more 4 ft flourescents

when i buy my next light im gonna expand into the actual room. itll have either 4 or six 4ft 2700k lights on top and side for flowering and then i cud use the 6500k cfls for the clones hopefully next gens. if that doesnt work then im gonna say "f" it and get ml and hps

They are all correct you have plants that are already stretched and lanky, you just don't realize they already are and it will only get worse.
You can flower with what you have, but you're going to need to arrange the lights a lot closer and bend the plants over and even still you will get a yield that matches the spindly pictures on that "worst grow" thread or whatever it was called.

The best thing you can do is do whatever you gotta do to get some HPS on them to finish flowering as soon as possible. It will make the difference between getting many ounces or possibly less than one. Do it now and it pays for itself right away.

some people dont have $100 to spend on a light that each bulb costs another $100. some people want to grow just to do it . if u set it up properly cfl grows are decent yeild grows. dont bash the poor man who has 200 $ and has to buy nutes lights a box meters pumps etc etc etc... as for the poster of the thread i suggest u find the cfl topic on rollitup. posting off topic gets alot of flamers trying to push their ideas onto u. from what i see it looks ok

i got cfl grow with a plant crested at 2ft. suck on that stretch...........
