new setup

i got a 150 watt light from the pet store(yes i know probably wont work but im hoping to get a 250 watt mh soon) in a dome.it gives good light but heat too so its far away plus its in a closet with a fan blowin on it. just a week old. got good water and some ferts for it. all i wanna kno is will it work and if not any suggestions? dont say read either cause i done all the reading i could do. its just the supplies i have and the way i gotta set it up probably wont work but idk

don't c why it won't work unless it is a heat lamp, it may slow the growth r kill it. But i think your good

What you got sounds like a heat lamp, it doesn't emit hardly any light. I would get some compact fluorescents ($8 at wal mart or home depot) and use those until your mh gets in. Unless its an HPS or a MH that 150w is only gonna make a lot of heat. And make sure to go really easy on the nutes, 1/4 strength is all they'll need
