The arguing gets everyone nowhere. Buy what you want, you get what you get, end of story. They prob are the same, or they are not, and you are happy with saving money, or happy that you got the real boards. They prob both light up. I usually would read all the posts but its pretty repetitive.

You might be right. I've only seen everything out of stock (of everything). And I've only heard that 288s are now being made in US. Other than that, the only conclusion I can draw is that 304s are still made in China, until otherwise claimed not.

I'm sure a quick message to the guys at HLG will give the answers you seek.
I also buy parts from China, but they tend to be normal passive components one can make a rig for and test. I would only use it for proof of concept tests, after that I pay the premium to Digikey or RS to make sure I get the real components.

Their site has them listed for sale, though out of stock. The only claim thus far is 288 boards are now being made in US. What question do I need to ask?

The actual PCBs are probably still Chinese made, the problem is making sure the real chips you send them to solder on, ends up on the board.
I think that is the function they brought to the USA, the picking and placing as well as the soldering.

Yes, that is true - but the inverse square function is basically useless for making such predictions with multiple emitters and reflective walls.
No. DIY, as in sourcing the stuff myself, experimenting with drivers, configurations, etc.
For example, I ordered boards with 50% 3000k diodes and 50% 4000k diodes... afaik HLG does not offer that.
Why should I be beholden to only what HLG offers me? That's just silly.
Mixing CCT's is a fools game, TBH. You simply end up with an average of the two CCT's - in this instance, 3500K which is a readily available color temp. Stephen from HLG has posted some spectrometer measurements that showed this. The only time it makes sense is if you want to turn off the lower CCT diodes for Veg and then add them in during flower.

Yeah, I'm about to go make a deposit so I can order 10 100W F-gen3 strips.
Think they fit my needs for every tray, so I can just make each tray's light modular.
Just want to do a test run to compare them to the 4kW of CXM22s I have in the room at the moment.

Will run them in 3 parallel on a LNE-48V320WAAA good for 43-53V and 3.35-6.70A

This well designed PCB has less than half the board covered in copper. It has 800 watts being pushed through it 24 hours a day.
LOL. I am talking about PCBs like the Samsung/Bridgelux Strips or the QBs and not motherboards. :wall:

The cooler they run, the more light they put out at the same power draw.

I'm reading all kind of forums to buy good for money fixtures / Cob's / Diodes... mennn its hard to keep up. And allmost when i desided yes this im going to use or try... there's something else that gets my interest.

So this morning i came to this topic haha... and yes i changed my mind again. This looks really great to me. Its something i tried to make with a lot of disposed "FREE" Philips lights (Philips 7W 2700K 24D 12V 7GM6DBAAEAA). But when i read all this... i can trow the fixture im making of all these bulbs in to the bin. Thees leds are to old :(

Now i'm searching for these Samsung Led panels and strips. And come across this site.

LG got same chip?

What's the difference? They both have components that produce heat and require heat to be distributed away from the board.
It's an honest question, I don't know the answer, which is why I asked.
