New to AG need some help

Hey guys ive been reading both threads for the last couple of hours and have a few questions of my own.. Thiis is my first grow and am doing this for personal use and to have some good weed since its so dam expensive for the haze and hydro around where i live.. Any advice to me is good advice and am looking forward to hearing from u guys.. I am in my third week veg. and i have 5 that are about 3-4" and they are very bushy already.. Hea are my questions:

I was wondering what type of areogarden does every1 have?
I have the pro 200 series.. It comes with an extendable 24" lamp hood arm and hs a microprocessor that does something not really sure..

Do u think the 24" extenable arm is good enuf to get a good yield like 1/4 Lb. maybe??

When should i start the flowering stage since i have the 24" extenable arm?

When should i start the trimming stage and what should i trim??

When u trim do u cut at an angle or straight cut?

I smoke with my plants everyday maybe 2 or 3 times a day blowing smoking at each and every 1.. Is this bad for the plants??

Is ph up and down for fish tanks the same as what we use for hydroponics water?

I have never heard of smoking with the plants, in fact I always feel bad smoking in front of them. I've worked with the AG, Pro 100 excellent grower, check into the master gardener kit Their Nut's are very good for root growth the larger tablets will come in handy once the roots get to that long white beard stage. Use a mylar wrap around the unit the light loss is unbelievable without it. Watch out for the plants out growing the unit If the leaves start to mysteriously droop check that the root hasn't grown sideways in the seed chamber Fill the unit as full as it will go with water. What are you going to do for the flowering end of things, I'm partail to Leds myself.

Ok Ok We are Stoners yaKnow. 1/4 pound Its possible but you'd be very lucky with half that amount, 24" Arm is ok plants double in size once flowering begins I say 6 wks in you start flowering you must allow for the plant to mature for a good crop, I trim at an angle I'm no expert on when and where to trim so I won't speak on that, I trim for cloning. The Smoking thing I anwsered, instead use champane yeast you can get it at a home brewing place, Apple juice or sugar and water for the activation I do 1.5 gms of yeast to 1 ltr of liquid adding a new bottle every 2 weeks, pulling the first at the eight week mark. Fish stuff is fine for ph adjustment

peeps, read the growfaq. pH up/down the same for hydro? are you growing soil in the fish tanks? I've known some who have. read the grow faq and see if that satisfies your appetite. good luck.

the extendable light is good but youll need some side lighting.cfl's work excellent.

i would start flowering when they are good and bushy.

i would not trim anything but the foliage that has over 50% damage.but strongly consider topping.cut at about 45 degree angle.

dont smoke with ur plants.waste of time and smoke.

i use Ph up and down by GROW MORE.make sure it says "For hydroponics" before you use it.use Ph up snd down to concentrate to lower to Ph of nutrient solution.so that should give you a good idea of what you should use.

Guys what does CFL stand for and where could i buy a nice side light set up and how much.. What kind of cfl sould i be looking for.. And what does evry1 do for reflective paper or sheets i use aluminum foil is this ok??

What is topping exactly i see evry1 talkin about it?

the cfl means compact flourescent light. it is those lights that kind of look like asnake coiled up.you can get them at wally world or home depot. i would be looking for the 150 or 200watt replacement,they do really well.
for reflective paper you can use foil or white paint.

topping ur plants encourages lower foliage to grow to make ur plant more bushy,thats what you want.you cut off the top new leaves when ur plants get about 4".youll see lower leaf growth and you can yeild more at harvest time!bongsmilie

thanks purp much love how would u think my babies are doing they are on 1st page 2nd post.. Im moving my ag to another closet of the house where more secluded and i can use the whole closet for my grow.. Right now im using me and my girls clothes closet and not much room to move around.. So tommorow when i wake up i have to reorganize spare room gut closet of all stuff foil closet and go to wal mart to get some cfl lights..

Purp where can i find light fixtures that run off a plug so i can put the cfl's on the side of the plants like u suggested.. And tell me also brand and type of cfl and how many and what wattage? Thanks in advance ur a big help in my upgrades..

Last question since i didnt know much do u think i should junk all the plants and order nutez and set up new closet and start all over or keep going and see what happens??

Thanks alot mobetter that definitely helped alot.. ur the best keep me updated ive been doin this for 3 weeks but just joined the site 2 days ago.. I already changed alot of shit around and 2day im moving to another closet.. Thanks man much love

CFL = Compact Flourescent light. Thats what's in your AG. 20" stick grow bulbs work here too. The stuff for wraping around is called mylar 3 mil. is good but pricey. Light is a tricky Lady The formula for intensity is you lose light half the distance from the source is quarter the light so by going all the way to that foil before bouncing back your not getting any effect for your effort. tape the mylar to the unit leaving a few 1" slots for vents. Introduce a small fan. Once you go to the flowering stage open 12" on the front. For the light I like a full red lcd panel $25 on Ebay Ledwholesalers is best You could also use a par 138 led red bulb You might want to have a larger hydro unit at the ready in case they out grow the AG. I took the AG lamp and hung it from the next higher shelf and took the base off the tree portion of the unit; so only lamp was working etc.

yes your babies are fine!good, youll need a little room to move around.Keep them and experiment by trial and error.i use the 150watt replacement they are actually 42watts a peice.i got mine at home depot with the little fixture and metal lamp with the clamp(just like in the pics above.i have three of them,but on this grow im gonna get a couple more.they put out 2700 Lumens each and for the price i think its the best bang for your buck!
the benefit of using lower wattage bulbs:
1. More point sources of light
2.More even ditribution of light
3.Able to place bulbs closer to plants

Thanks purp again man sorry havent had any posts been really busy... I moved my plants into a different closet.. Since last time i added 2 23 watt cfl=100watts.. 3 pack was $8 the 42 watt was $9 alone.. I added a 4'' air stone put all the lights on a timer and started flowering as of today.. I have 5 plants in their and they are all 4-5" and very bushy.. Im takin my 2 small sprouts out lack of room.. I think 5 is still 1 too many but u neva know out of 5 how many males there will be.. I hope 2 get 3 females if im lucky.. Ill be posting some new pics in next post.. Thanks every1 for being hea standing by me and helping me with the great advice.. Til next time

i just covered all the holes with foil to protect roots.. Another tip i piked up from reading hea.. i guess root rot will occur from too much heat.. Cover ur holes guys pics comin shortly
