New To Growin...

Well I just planted my first seed this past Thursday. I used a plastic cup with a few holes in the bottom, and some potting soil my friend had. I've been checking on it a couple times a day for the past two days, watering it once a day. Just checked on it about an hour ago and it finally came up....thank god I haven't killed it already haha. Anyway, I was just wondering if some of you all could give me some tips for beginner growers. I live in VA Beach, and the temp for the next few months is going to be around 75 to 90 degrees. So if anyone could help me out a little on like how much to water it, when I should put it in a bigger pot, etc. I would really appreciate it. Oh and my friend was saying something like you can keep it in a real small pot, and it will stay around a foot tall, but still bud. That true? Thanks to everyone who replies.

I would transplant asap.

You do not want to over water however, the smaller cups or pots will evaporate the water quicker.
You want bigger pots for the roots to grow.
The bigger the pot the less you should water.
Too much water will kill it.

Make sure the new pot has good drainage.

You should not add any nutes until the plant is atleast 30 ds old.

Happy growing

Thanks alot....one thing I do still wonder about is if the plant can bud even if it is really small. I have to worry about neighbors, parents, and other factors, so I am trying to keep the plant fairly small. If I transplanted it into say a small clay pot about 6 inches in diameter, would it be possible for it to produce some buds? I'm not worried about getting alot, just want it to bud. I wouldn't be upset if I only got a few grams off of it. And by keeping it in something small, doesn't it control the roots so the plant can't get over a certain height? Thanks again

Yes you can grow as small as you want or as large as you want.

I would recommed growing until it is 8-12" tall in the vegetative stage.
Or until it has atlest 4-5 alternating nodes.
I would then switch to 12/12 flowering stage.

You will need to take inside or figure a way to cover and still have good ventilation for the 12 dark.
Without total dark 12 the plant will take longer to sex.

Sounds good...don't think I'll be able to put it inside for reasons stated before. Thanks for all the info though, I really appreciate it
