People who grow Fastbuds seeds seem to love them, but I haven't yet. They were a bit on the expensive side for me. They're primarily known for autos, but I think they've expanded into "fast flowering" photos fairly recently.

I'm broke, so I usually shop the bargain aisle. Here's where I've been buying my seeds for the past year. They have a reverse auction page where it's possible to get seeds very cheap if you're looking at the right time. Some say their photo fems have a higher than usual tendency to herm - and a couple of mine did - but otherwise I've been really happy with the genetics so far. I've been paying $15-$20 per 6 pack from there.

Plenty of other options out there that people seem to love. No shortage of reasonably priced seeds for those who know where to look.

Flipping to 12/12 won't "shock" her in a bad way. It just triggers hormones that initiate the flowering process. I don't really play around with light cycle too much. It's usually either 22/2 or 12/12 for me.

Welcome to the community! Gardening is a great hobby to help battle depression. It sounds like you’ve really taken to this and bonded with your train wrecks. Look up how to clone plants, and then you can keep special plants around for many years, and flower out several generations.

I'd give the little one some time to catch up. When I first started photos, I grew them in with my autos. I didn't have a separate tent and light at that point, so I'd just take the photos out of the tent and stash them in a closet for 12 hours at a time while I kept blasting the vegging plants with light.

Very recently saw someone recommend this site, and I've found a lot of interesting stuff on there for great prices. Check it out.

I'll look now..I've read comments on some sites where the seeds never sprouted. So I get nervous..it would be different if I had the extra $$$ then I wouldn't care..but until I have it like that I gotta pay attention..I read all the shoppers comments and reviews for hours then cross check that lol..Humbolt seed company is nice and Legit..once I ordered I had the seeds in 3days..I live in Wisconsin and they came from California. Thar was nice and they came in the Is authentic humboldt packaging too

Really??? That sounds amazing and I will do that for sure tonight..yeah ..I was in a very very dark place back towards the end of September mentally. Lost my job due to some real BS..relationship ended also. The universe some how Maneuvered me to get them seeds in the dirt..and ever since they mean alot to me..plus doing research and truly getting into the hobby kept my mind positive. I start a new job December 1st. Hoping by mid January to beginning of February I'll be caught up on bills and be able to upgrade a little and get new seeds to try, dirt and nuds..I love sitting and watching her grow..so does Memphis my dog

Welcome to RIU. I discovered this community several years ago, and it is a great source for information and support. As you are discovering, gardening is therapeutic. My stress level drops to almost nothing when I stand in my garden room under the warm glow of artificial lighting and healthy plants everywhere. Your plants look great, and there's no better companion than a good dog. I will echo something mentioned earlier by Modern Selections. Adding tomatoes and/or peppers to the mix is extremely rewarding. I'm just starting my winter garden with tomatoes, peppers, beans, peas, cucumbers, melons, lettuce, cilantro, bunching onions, kohlrabi, and garlic. Also, keep in mind there are lots of lighting options that emit UVB light. Your skin uses UVB to naturally produce vitamin D, which is known to reduce depression levels, especially in high latitudes with short winter days like you and I have.

Good morning everyone, hope everyone is having a blessed start of the day. Update: I started her on 12/12 last night 8pm-8am. I can't do a timer right now because I only have one light setup and my 2 smaller plants aren't ready for 12/12 yet. That's a lesson I learned. I thought in the beginning that if I planted a few plants a week or 2 behind each other that I'd have a plan..I learned not really..next time around I'll will do 3 seeds at the same time so that i don't come across this problem of me having to move plants around the house for lights.
I must say that as time goes on this hobby gets more and more Exciting, Intriguing and so Enjoyable.
I also got a Different perspective on this Entire hobby now..its not about growing buds to smoke, ....well kinda lol...but MY Perspective has changed a little it's more about watching these amazing Beautiful plants form into these Gorgeous plants..the different colors in them , the leaves, actually being able to see the buds come together. I'm 42yrs old . I've been smoking since I'm 12-13yrs old..and not once did I ever truly look at or really Appreciate the buds the way I do now...plus now I found this amazing site to meet others who have the Experience, Knowledge and share the same outlook I do.
As I brought the plant back in the setup this morning and got everything Situated, I couldn't help but think about the future of this hobby and the Excitement I got knowing that my future grows will be just as amazing. And now I can actually Educate and teach my daughter that's 18 about all this..she smokes but I had to remind her that she has no clue on what she's smoking from friends. I call it "huff" . In WI they won't Legalize weed. But they will Legalize Delta8 , Delta9, Delta0. All this Synthetic weed..and people out here are selling that Delta as real weed and its sad..so me and my daughter next round are growing together.
I told her in doing that she will be able to know what she's smoking, she will Appreciate it more and also never have to depend on someone else and take the risks of getting huff or depending on others..
I look forward to growing with her..thought I'd share the update and the situation with my daughter. Have a great day everyone

@Midwest414 , awesome that you’re enjoying it. There are bound to be curveballs, but this place is amazing for sorting stuff out. I’ve stopped reading any other grow sites, really.

My daughter moved out recently also, and her room makes a perfect cure zone for me. I opened up to my kids when they were both 18 and they couldn’t have cared less! I’ve shared some edibles with my daughter, though my son has no interest.

It is excellent to be liberated from some of the social concerns and uncertainty.

One thought. I’d definitely get a timer and get all plants going on it. Sounds high maintenance to have to move plants every 12 hours. That would be my truth anyway. Set it and forget it for up to a couple days if needed. Also, make sure it’s absolutely dark. Any light leaks can really mess things up.

Good luck. Each grow is a learning experience - with dividends!

Welcome to RIU! Yea using weed and growing it and this forum are all great outlets from stress. When I need to blow steam I get an instant calm just messing with my plants or surfing this site.

I dosed 2 times lately with shrooms..first one was 4.5g and the last time was 6g... It was beyond spiritual.
Shrooms are easier and cheaper to grow than weed. There are a handful of us on the site who grow them. You should check it out and see if it's something you'd want to try.

It's amazing that u understand, when I mention to others that me and my daughter smoke weed together people look at me side ways..actually on her 16th birthday I took her out to any restaurant she wanted so we went downtown and dressed up and everything. Actually that's the same night the NBA playoffs where going on, the bucks beat the nets to Advance to the championship. The Restaurant was 3 blocks away from the Stadium. Me and my daughter love basketball. My daughter grew up her whole life around me smoking weed. So as we ate I asked her " are you curious about smoking weed?" She looked at me and said yes..me and my daughter have an amazing relationship. We talk about everything. I said ok..I said for one of your birthday gifts I'll agree to allow you to smoke . But there's some rules #1 your school grades have to stay up, #2 have to maintain your Responsibilities, she was a babysitter for my supervisor granddaughter. #3 only weed she smokes I get for her. She said ok...I had that question planned so we finished eating, I paid the bill..as we are leaving the streets are nuts with Bucks fans..so I pulled out a blunt of OG kush. It was nice outside that night..her birthday is in june..so me and her walked around downtown for hours smoking. I asked her how she felt, reminded her she was safe and if she was uncomfortable or didn't like it to let me know and it was ok...she was fine . We got home , I packed a bowl, put on the movies Friday, next Friday and Friday after next..me and her loved that movie..we smoked 7 bowls From the bong , glass pipes. She passed out lol..so did i..the next morning I asked her how she felt, if she liked it. Also I explained what's what..what 3gs look like , what to look for , what to be careful about ect..she's now 18 and she kept her word, She graduated, she's got a job, she's never Taken advantage of our agreement. My mom allowed me to smoke weed at 13..I was smoking anyways ..she said she'd rather have me in the house safe..I never forgot that. And because of that I didn't run wild with it..and my daughter was the same..
It's special to me that we have that together and now I'm able to teach her, and show her..she thinks it's so cool growing..I explain to her as we look at the plants this is what your smoking..she told me she has a whole new respect for weed now...
Once I get back on my feet I plan on getting a ⏲...and upgrading a few things..I'd like to get a tent for my basement..any thoughts on tents here? ...are they worth it..or should I just keep using the closest?
