the darkroom im getting first is the dr80, i have a 400w EYE hortilux hps in a daystar a/c hood.. i need to figure out which canfan and carbon filter i want / need for my room..

i plan on eventually getting the dr120 as well.. using the dr80 and 400 with conversion for vegging mothers and having a 600w for flowering...

my medium setup is: fox farm ocean forest, fox farm light warrior, biobizz bio-grow, biobizz bio-bloom, biobizz topmax and gravity...

my lil seedlings are 6 days old, 4 days under the EYE hortlilux hps.. i didnt wanna use it for veg but it has enough blue so i said fuck it..

i made a temp frame from pvc and mylar, ill have pics later

How well does that air cooled hood fit in the DR80? I already have an a/c hood and I want to buy a tent, but the DR80 looks a little cramped, like it would be too small to run the vent tubing really well.

I'm really anxious to get my tent, and any advice you can give about the combo you're using would help me out alot since mine is going to be almost identical.

i got the dr120, it was just more logical.. i have about a foot on each side of the reflector, with the ducting on it, it gives me about 3 inchs from the tent wall on one side.. im going to reposition everything soon..

Did you still go with the 400watt light? I thought about the DR120, but it seems like it would be huge... almost 4' x 4'.
It would be nice to be have that much room, but my light might not cover it well enough.

So what made you go with the DR120?

i went with the 120 cause the smaller models do not have side windows, or as far as i have seen..

the 4x4 isnt that big, it isnt that much room when it comes down to it... i could fit 6, 5gal poted plants in there comfortably, 9 pushing it.

a 4inch inline fan cools my daystar a/c... my 400 covers it perfect, yes i used the 400w MH and 400w HPS, soon to be using a 600 in flower, im on day 2 night cycle right now..

the 120 was 233 with 15% off sale.. so i got it for a good deal, i couldnt pass it up

Cool. I'm using smaller pots - 10" square 2 gallon. That's why I was thinking of the 3 x 3 Homebox,
because I could easily fit 9 of those with room to spare. But on the website I was shopping on I
noticed that the 3 x 3 Homebox is about the same price as the DR120, but the DR just seems nicer.

I really don't want to go with too big of a box, but at the price difference it would almost be stupid
not to buy the DR120. With a tent that size though, you really need 600watts minimum.

i chose darkrooms cause theyre THERMAL, and they have everything needed for a room.. intake, outtake, side windows, bottom air vents, cross member bars up top, everything to make a controlled room, i hate shitty boxes and cabs.. its money well spent and i do not regret it 1 bit..

400w covers mine perfect 600w would be optimal im getting one next week

one thing i DO recommend is that you have someone you trust zip you up inside it, and test for light leaks, ive heard about some have messed up zippers but mine has none... the only leak i saw was from the actual zipper window, was nothin more than a pen tip size, and a lil pin hole in the material, i dunno if i accidently stuck it or what... and dont use a razor to open the box.. but you will be happy :) its easy to control temps since it is thermal

Cool. Yeah I heard the material is a little thin on the DR, but I guess that's ok as long as there aren't too many pinholes.

BTW, I found this new tent that looks like it's just as good as the DR, but with thicker material and stronger poles. It's brand new, but WAY too expensive. So I'm still sticking with my decision to buy the DR. This new tent might be something to look out for in the future though. It looks awesome.

I'm going to order my DR in a couple weeks. I'll keep you posted when I get it.

the DR material is THICK, its black on the outside, insulation / thermal in the middle and a reflective material on the inside.. the poles are pretty solid aluminum, i wouldnt ever get a hydro hut just cause of how their first ones came out.. killin plants and shit

True, alot of people are avoiding the HH because of the bad tents a while back. Plus, like I was saying they're much more expensive - $350 for a 4 x 4 tent.

But I also heard that Secret Jardin is coming out with a new tent that will be better than their DR line in a few weeks too. That might be something to keep an eye out for.

Peace
