New Yorkers

New York took a step toward becoming the 15th state to legalize medical marijuana today when the State Senate Health Committee passed the Senate’s medical cannabis bill (S. 4041-B). The State Assembly’s version, A. 9016, passed the Health Committee in January.

It should be noted, however, that the Senate Health Committee passed the bill in 2009 as well but it never reached the Senate. Additionally, the Assembly has passed medical pot bills in 2007 and 2008.

Still, advocates are optimistic. “Let’s hope New York legislators will follow the lead of New Jersey, the state next door, which is about to become the 14th state to implement an effective medical marijuana law,” said MPP’s Noah Mamber

another dispensary only gem, what a coincidence that NJ just passed the same thing a few months ago
there is trail of money here with this deal, the prior NY bill was patient cultivation only

Plus with the state of new york being so damn broke they just might and tax the hell out of it to make up some of the deficit. Or even open there own dispensaries to make most of the profit.

i've seen an estimate of a patient's expected yearly cost in the NJ system
it was multi thousands of dollars, we'll see how this plays out
the frustration level is high because the politicians don't care what pro MMJ advocates think, it just doesn't reach a critical level on their 'voter radar'
so money is driving it, i do understand this is a step forward, just so frustrating when there was a better bill that was ready to go through the legislature
then Spitzer had his meltdown, and that was the end of that

New York City dwellers need to utilize those fucking rooftops for growing. Not just herb, but veggies too. I'm surprised there aren't more "blue" states that in the east that have adopted Med Cannabis laws. What a shame. Good luck New Yorkers. Fight for freedom. :blsmoke:
