ck did you have anything special written on package as customs seize any cs over 15ppm that's why I went for a generator but if its that easy I mite just order some for piece of mind, as far as I know you just spray the solution on as is ive been told its spose to be above 40ppm. dunno about the afghans they were just the free seeds from herbies ay dark red stems at the mo. the pics are pre possums the plant front right was untouched (green love potion) the 2 on the left are white rhino and the back right is the afghan (and the close up) the big plants are the white widow x big bud 4 weeks ago they are now at chin level and also a room of dr underground melon gum (not outdoors but these girls are niiiiice) got a few of them outside too. one of the rhinos died from being eatn but the love potion was untouched and afghan and other rhino alltop nodes were left as well as a few fan leaves, P1010439.jpg P1010440.jpgP1010449.jpgP1010454.jpg

Hey CK yeah that's what I thought not exactly and operation. Was going to trim today but damn far to hot for it. Got 26 degrees today and met service is predicting: 26 26 27 and 25 right up till Monday! Who knows though its always wrong. Yeah hope she is a girl, have put quite alot of work in ;-) Aw awesome man cheers id love some of those fem seeds!! Super keen to try them out. Harvest April yea should be able to or though I wouldn't like to say, Im not quite experienced enough to know yet lol Poor malawi's maybe they're still adjusting form the lights to the sun. Damn 9 till 7 what a mad spot and that soil looks bloody nice! Lucky lucky.

Checked mine today and looks like it took the transplant really well because when I arrived it was standing tall with its hands pointing to the sky. Go baby go grow grow grow lol Even though I only put it out on Tuesday the growth has been real good even in that short space of time so Im quite happy with that. Haven't seen anymore bugs on it and the damage that they done seems to be heeling :bigjoint: I have noticed some rusty looking parts on the leaves though and at the tips. Its minor and not on all the leaves but just wondering if anyone knows what it could be? See the pic. Ill keep an eye on it for now. Heres a few pictures just to show ya how its looking since it was put in the ground:

Nice bit of growth. Rusty spotty looking bits?
Yeah personal is all good. These little plantations are just between me and my dad and he said they were looking mean as today. I got 23 today which is good - hot as days at work suck man. Insulating wool into a ceiling on a 28 degree day is killer! Nz temps feel at least 2-4 degrees hotter than overseas. Those uv rays are vicious in january! sunburn in 5 mins. My temps are 25 degrees over the weekend and on monday - I drink at least 2 litres of water at work it's so hot, overcast humid days are the worst.

The malawis are all right now, your plant is adapting to it's new home nicely bro and it looks to have a bit of indica in it too. I like growing sativas more because I can chuck them out late and still have very decent sized plants and this year is going to be crazy.

Don't worry about those spots on the plant. one of my Panamas has some yellow spots but it's nothing to worry about, just wait for it to settle in and it will be healthy as.
If your plants are screaming at the sun then that's good, seeds grow better than clones imo.

I feel your pain Kiwi, I used to do roof tiling and insulation too, in the middle of summer on 40+ degree days was our worst nightmare, dehydration was a regular occurence lol

DD,

Check out this, its the best I have found so far on CS breeding.

https://www.autoflower.net/forums/f117/definitive-colloidal-silver-tutorial-9878.html

Nice looking plants you got going there. Shame the possoms decided to stop by. I have the same issue with rabbits. %*#&$^(#^$!(!!!!!! They have killed or stunted way too many things that I have planted. I would kill them all if it were possible.

Ps. I just did my first batch of colloidal silver. I put together a little generator with a 9volt, 600mA, power source. It worked really fast, actually faster than I like. I'm going to have to add a little resistor to it keep it from working so fast. I got some precipitate in the bottom in less than an hour. The water is also just slightly cloudy now. I wish I had a TDS handy to test it. I should have one in a few days so I'll just store it and see what I got.

I've set up another test run using a single 9volt battery to see the difference. I'll leave it over night for like 9-10 hours. I have a couple other setups that I could put together. Lower volts and mA. Lots of options.

I gotta say this is really easy to do. If you can get a little bit of good .999 silver then go for it. Don't buy the premade stuff. This is too easy. Cost me $50 and I now have enough silver to last me many years of regular use. All the parts are cheap and might even be in your junk drawer/closet/garage/shop already.

Fair enough mate got a 27 today here and managed to get pretty burnt at the river haha Thats crazy doing that in 28 degree heat screw that lol Yeah humid days are defiantly the worst gotta hate the feeling of it. Thats mean about your Malawi's they're gonna be huge and that's better with them getting a longer season Id like to grow them one day. Cheers man just making sure it isn't something to bad. Hopefully its adjusting well to its new home :-) Gonna check it again on Monday and give it a water so should be sweet hopefully.

So guys, how long a growing season are you expecting to have with these grows?
Dankdope planted early so that is going to be a longer one, but what is normal for you guys?

I basically have 3.5-4 months of growing time here. I can push it out to a maximum of 6 if I use lots of special techniques or a heated greenhouse. Even with a short season like ours I have seen many plants that are 8-10' tall. They were all single cola trees though, no big branching ones. I would be interested in seeing the difference in smoke with a longer season for Sativas to mature. Those ones that are more than 22-24 weeks of flowering time for example. I've never seen nor heard of such a thing here in Canada. I'm sure someone does it indoors but that would be a special private grow only. Kind of like the secret outdoor gardeners that have been breeding for the last 40+ yrs for their own personal use.

What is the normal start and finish times for you guys in NZ??

depend on where you live, Ive never grown this far south only the nelson area so just put them out at normal time which a couple weeks early for here. top of the south as a guideline many will aim to have 1ft high seedlings going out in the bush mid October (labour weekend) clones 2nd week of November. im not sure about the north island I woulve thought they would start of November too.

ive seen many go in after the new year and still get massive plants and good yields but you miss out on the early rains and have a lot more watering to do since the roots aren't as established. harvest depending on strain and region is anywhere from early march till mid april. I have chosen all early flower strains if theyre still out down here at the end of march youll lose the lot to mould

dankdope - Nice plants man, looks like you're growing a hashplant crop!. I had no idea they stop sales of CS over 15ppm - just buy 'ultra colloidal bio silver' from amazon for like $20 usd I think.
That indoor setup is solid as, looks like you have fully sussed the sea of green with that strain, awesome coverage.

How far down the line are you mate? east or west side of the south island?. South island is really interesting for MJ plants because it's so darn temperate! 16 degrees in alexandra one
day 30 the next.. Tauranga has a better flower season than veg, we can start seeds the end of september and clones 3rd week of october and we can harvest up until the first weekend of may and then it starts turning to shit after that but you definitely need sativa strains with good mold resistance and can handle slightly cold temps (8 degree lows).
I'd say Nelson would be the best place to grow in south island and Tauranga would be the best up in the north.

Most of your plants will start flowering mid to late jan i'd say, they look mostly indica for sure. My sativas will start a month later so they still have a long way ahead of them.
Best of luck for the rest of the season bro. Protect them and keep us updated! :weed:

Mo - You aussies are crazy working in those temps, I don't think I could stay concious for long working outside or being inside a ceiling lol!

A lot of respect for you Canadians growing outdoors at that high of latitudes, anything past 50N is inspiring to watch - I think there is a scotland grow somewhere by the name of hoots, truly amazing to see.

New Zealand has way too many micro climates to generalise start and finish times but If I had to the south island would be start of november generally and end of march til mid april at best. east coast is nice and dry down there. I live near the top of the north island tucked into a bay(37S) that is exposed to a lot of sun (2300-2500 hours). If I had a tricked out glasshouse I could grow anywhere from 22nd of september til end of may to even june but straight outdoor the first week may is the cut off point, last season would have seen its way to the 3rd week.

I'd rather put some pure or dominant sativas out this late to get nothing but primo weather for its cycle and they can end up being 15 ft anyways. I'm gonna check them today and I'll make an update.

Pictures taken at 7pm, they will easily get 8 oclock sun when they're bigger. They are looking 100% healthier in 3 days of nice hot sun over the weekend.
2 suspected red phenos and one green hopefully.

Hey CK those look awesome :weed: Red phenos yay lol Went and check mine today, its amazing how much its growin since I checked it last Thursday. Had heaps of sun and really warm weather and its gotten fairly tall. Ive noticed the two bottom single leaves have gotten really yellow. Also the smaller one above it and the bigger 3 fingered leaf of to the right has some yellow on it but the ones above it are all fine healthy and green. Is that algood just wanna make sure? Check the pictures. Other than that not alot more of the rusty marks and bug bites and the plants looking nice and healthy overall. Leaves seem to be looking a bit more sativa what do you think? Heres some pictures of the yellowing and just the plant in general: Day 38: 6 days since it got put out. Will be checking the plant again soon once im back from holiday. Of to Blenheim for a few days :)

Looking good guys!!

LT, that spot looks good. No worries about water there. There should be lots for your plants just a couple feet down. They won't need much attention from you. Pest control of course. Maybe some nutes and teas would be all. That is an ideal way to grow. I was doing some reading I the outdoor forum about people that go out and plant their guerrilla grows then don't return until harvest time. Leave them the whole season with no care. They plant lots expecting death and disease and bugs. I assume they must look for places like yours.

I also read read one comment about just tossing seeds in different places to see what grows. I like that idea. I guess I could try it if I end up with lots of seeds at some point. Wouldn't it be interesting to just toss out a bunch of mixed seeds and see what grows? Never know what you would get from a grow like that. Let them grow like that with specially selected males and you should get some pretty good acclimatization. Should just take a couple years to get something that grows really well in your location. I have an outdoor mix from around here that should give me something worth keeping. I can't remember if it is a regular mix though. I may need to watch for males with them.

Hey bro,

Thanks and yours has grown amazingly in the last 6 days and the vigour is only going to increase from here on in.
Me and you planted ours at the perfect time, I don't know about you but I've been getting nothing but stellar weather!, Tauranga metservice is bullshit - they record the temps at the airport and it's not warm there at all, i'd say the real temperatures would be 2-3 degrees higher.

Yeah the yellowing is completely natural because they're not really getting light and they're old too, happens to all plants eventually.
It's starting to look more sativa now, just look at the spacing between the nodes. The longer the spacing, the more sativa it is. Watch for alternating internodes man, then you can tell it's most likely going to be female. My taskenti cutting already has alternating internodes. Your plant looks 50/50 sativa/indica but then again 'looks' aren't the only way to tell. Spear shaped airy buds are a good indication and also natural herb, piney and minty aromas are usually sativa leaning and pungent, dank musky smells are usually indica.

there's this little creek on the way to my spot and has a perfectly round reservoir of fresh clean water that I can collect on the way
I don't want to visit my spot too much as it's on a farm. I'd say 12 hours of sun for the Malawis when they get bigger. They're probably at the 2" growth a day phase by now.

Oh yeah and you need to top her man, get lots of heads going. Singular plants are not that great, I'd rather have a jungle going rather than piss weak side colas lol. I'll probably top the Panamas soon.

People that guerilla grow and don't want to visit often use rain crystals, thats what I use for peace of mind in droughts. There was a guy in nz who had a thread on here grew hundreds of plants and said he just lets mother nature do the work, I'd rather put a full on effort into a minimal amount of plants and pull pounds and pounds per plant minimising the risk of getting caught because our government are Nazis against marijuana lol, some seizures in northland are over 40,000 plants!!. In my experience growing in Gauze is the best in NZ to keep wandering people or animals away because it freakin hurts

I don't know about tossing random seeds out ha, I like to know the origins of my plants.. wait no I have to know exactly where my plants have came from ha ha. But your idea sounds good because it's Canadian genetics right? do you have any native ruderalis up there mate?.

Both of our countries are good for toughening up genetics against mold and diseases. I'd rather grow from seeds outdoor because I believe the grow better. I think the panamas will kick the malawis ass just because they're seeds I reckon.

Guaze???
I was thinking What the hell is that? LOL
we got some good stuff here as well. Sharp nasty shit and stinging drive you out of your mind itchy stuff. Planting in a big patch of Poison Ivy or Devils Claw would be really nasty. I have personal experience with some of these plants.

Toughening is definitely what we do. The weak don't last long here. Big temperature and humidity swings. We swung 30 degrees in the one day this last weekend. -35 one day and -5 the next. +40 with high humidity in the summer and -40 with 10% humidity in the winter. A land of extremes. We love it.

Tossing out a mix of seeds for open pollination would be purely to get phenos that do well in my location. If I can find one or two that I like I could then use them with a tropical strain for breeding. Help to grow some of the more exotic strains outdoors as well as in. Not to mention just for the fun of seeing what pops up.

Hey BC thats quite true the area is fairly wet but Ive noticed it slowly drying up more as the weather gets hotter however its a hell of a lot wetter than some spots so im quite happy with it. Still need to trim some branches back to let more light in. The idea of tossing seeds and just seeing how nature takes it out would be a pretty cool experiment I wouldn't mind trying that one day if i had heaps of seeds. It would be real interesting to see how they came out. Natural to the extreme lol

Hey man sure has I have the feeling it will get quite tall. Thats awesome well be sweet then. Have had stellar weather here to everydays been hot as and burrrrning. I fully agree with you on the bull shit met service man because our temperatures are recorded just out of town or at the airport here I think and its defiantly hotter in some places. I recorded at leat 2 - 3 degrees higher than it on the website said and that's in the shade lol

Aw cheers for clearing the yellowing up just had to make sure. Yea I think that it is starting to show some sativa but yeah defiantly hybrid. My mate smelt it awhile ago and said it smelt like a mint plant haha But since its got bigger I think it smells minty, piney and has a sharp pungent fresh type smell to it so far. What do alternating internodes look like a picture would be awesome man? Yeah Ill probably visit mine maybe 1 - 2 times per week. Fresh water wouldn't be hard to find on a farm ha

Ah was wondering and had heard about topping. How and where on the plant do I top how does it all work. Ive got a rough idea but want to make sure haha

- Cheers man
