Newb looking for lighting help

Hello, I'm new to growing, and I've spent probably 45 minutes reading different threads to find my answer, to no avail. Could someone please help me out?

I have two plants started from cuttings, one that is about 6-8 inches tall and one that is about 2 inches tall. I'm wondering what lighting interval I should use? So far they have had 24 hour light. I have read that 18 on and 6 off until 12 inches tall and ready to harvest works well, but do I really want to harvest at 12 inches? Thanks for your help.

24 hours a day for seedlings or clones -- 18/6 for veg till desired height and size ---12/12 all the way through flowering til you harvest

i would switch to 18/6 (eighteen hours on and six off) and keep doing what your doing untill they get a bit bigger, its up to you really. then trigger flowering with 12/12

Well.....Al B Fuct runs his lights 24/7 for clones, He harvests 3# of bud every month. Please fellows, if you are not sure of the answer........ VV
