NEWB seeking vegetative/lowryder advice

I've heard 27W CFLs are good for clone/vegetative every square foot, around the 5000k range for Full Spectrum.

I've got a closet space about 4x4 and about the same length in height. Here's a list of the strains and how many I've got in mind:

  • Thai Super Skunk x 10 (regular)

  • Mandala Satori x 10 (regular)

  • Northern Lights x Super Skunk x 10 (fem)
  • Arjan's Ultra Haze #1 x 5 (fem)
  • White Widow x 1 (fem)
  • Lowryder or some type of Auto-flowering.

I only plan on using about 1 or 2 of the Ultra Haze because of it's extended flowering period. I live in the northern hemisphere, so I decided to order some Satoris and make up for the discarded 5 AUH #1.

I guess my question is: I want to get a head start on my batch before it's put outside early May, to promote strong stem and root production. I also don't want to wait till September/October for some homegrown.

Could I use CFLs or any other cheap, efficient lighting to raise the seedlings/vegetative stage AND finish the Lowryders with the same light?

What I'd like to do is plant them around the next week or so, then once the regular batch gets transplanted outside, I'll have some nice lowryders to harvest.

I want to do this right but I don't want to take out a loan to do it. I'm spending roughly $100-200 already on soil, nutes, supplies.

Any suggestions or advice (good or bad) is highly welcomed and appreciated. :bigjoint:

PS: Also, my budget for lights would be around $150.
