Hello all,

First timer here. Figured I would start a thread for those that might want to tag along on my journey. I hope for the best, but take it all as a learning experience.

Setup
Res: 6 gallon DWC bucket with 4 outlet air pump and 4 disk air stones
Medium: Peat pellets in Hydroton
Nutes: Floranova Bloom
Water: Dat tap
Plant: 3 bag seeds
Light: CFL and 300w LED

I don't plan to let these veg long as they are bag seed and I don't want to waste time with big, long growing only to end up with males. I plan to only veg them for a few weeks, flip to flower, find out sex, then take clones from the best looking plant. I have dubbed them Step Child, Fiona, and Radio. Step Child was a given plant from bag seed that was started in cheap box store soil, struggled to stay alive for a month, then brought back from the grave. One of Radio's first leaves only had half a side (hence the name if you have seen the movie). Fiona, because, why not.

I'll try to keep this updated with weekly pictures (taken every Friday) and any trouble I run into along the way. Wish me luck!

First Picture: Step Child at day 1 I received it. Barely alive. Went into an emergency 20 oz pop bottle DWC.
Second Picture: Fiona and Radio their first day.

That first plant looks kinda rough. I would just use straight water till it perks up a little then a small dose of nitrogen to strengthen the whole plant and get it photosynthesizing well.

Check post #3, picture #1. It has sprung back to life. It got water and just a few drops of nutes since all the bottom leaves were dead (which I removed after the first picture on post #2).

My bad. Those plants there look good. Why not use a little nitro on them though?

It got a few drops of Floranova Bloom for the first week, then 1/4 strength Floranova Bloom the second week. They are all now in the main DWC running on 1/4 strength DWC. I will up that to 1/2 strength soon, but I didn't want it to hurt the new seedlings by too much so soon. If I see no burning on the newer plants, I will up them to 1/2 strength come res change.

First off. Your doomed to a poor run because you are feeding a BLOOM nutrient in veg! FAIL!

Veg nute for 2 weeks after the flip, THEN bloom feeds!

Lets see them in pic's at week 4 of bloom!

You'll learn...
It's my first grow, so I'm willing to learn from my mistakes. I don't expect to have a spectacular or flawless grow my first go around, just trying to get some first hand knowledge under my belt. I appreciate your experienced insight though.

Weekly update. Res 69* F, .74 EC after topping off with water (water has a base .13 EC), 6.1 pH. Due to the nitrogen issue mentioned below, res was changed today. 5.5 gallons of fresh water, .514 EC, 5.8pH. Floranova is only being ran at 1/8th strength until they tell me the need more.

As you can see they have grown a bit in the last week. Amazing amount of root growth. 'Fiona' (top left) has really taken off. They looked great last night. As of this evening they seem to be having a bit too much nitrogen. Hard to see in the picture due to the lighting, but they have a dark green leaf color and 'Step Child' (bottom of pic) has some clawing. Over all I'm happy with the size at only two weeks old.

I used Maxibloom throughout veg no problems

Buds looking super frosty
REALLY? Along with what?
How long have those been in flower?

How about some pics with the fucking purple (not the best choice for bloom at all) LED off?
Do it again at 4 and 5 weeks and then lets see what your high P is doing for you!

"shaking head"

I just looked at the pic again- Your doing Lucass in soil? This just gets better and better..

I know you know your shit better than me, so no disrespect. But seriously Flora Nova Bloom throughout the whole grow works great. Here's two different dwc plants that were vegged with it, pulled 20.5 oz off the one.

Hmm, quite cool then. You didn't get any yellowing from the bottom up at like week 4 and going forward it got worse?

No dis taken man! I do be wrong sometimes too.....kinda the human thing you know!

I never did it that way and there's no reason that some "rule" on P can't be bent.....Might call for a try.....I did like the Nova line! Kinda dirty for an ebb but, good stuff otherwise!

I might have to play with that this winter!

So far never had any deficnicies or lockout

Interesting to be sure!

I'd still pick something else to bloom with but, that's my choice as LED does lack some power in bloom......Another one that appears to be bending P "rules" in bloom....

I might suggest a bit of Kelp extract for the minor micro nute def. their showing a bit of....Ir and S but, not bad at all, as long as it doesn't increase - your choice...

N is strong showing.

Whats the RH and ambient temps if you would....I'm interested!
Still I'd like to see that plant again in 2-3 weeks from now - for my own know'ins...If you do "qoute" me in please!

Another nice job......

I may have to update my opinion of the Lucas use with Nova!

Always learning something as time goes by!

Thanks for the light off pics!
