Hi Everyone. I'm new here and wish to learn how to manage pain with weed. I have a genetic bone disease and I have osteoarthritis of the spine (Im 42yrs old) so have chronic back pain. I dont smoke weed but have heard people like me can lessen our pain alot with edibles. So, I have just made my 1st ever batch of brownies (following a recipe online that uses oil rather than butter) and it is so mild its not even worth eating. I yawned a bit and and got hungry and admittedly slept well for the first time in ages but no pain relief.

Do you decarb in the oven before adding it to the butter/oil on the stove?

How do you tell good weed from mediocre weed?

I have read online that indica would be the one best suited to my needs but how do I tell what it is when its in front of me?

How do you make the perfect cannabutter?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks. :-)

i am also new and don't consider it as fact but i know that you should decarb marijuana before using it in edibles to convert THCA to THC, 100 celsius in oven for 70 minutes will work, google it up for better advice, not sure if i can put links here. but if you have bought cannabutter or oil they should have been already decarbed.

good luck

Thanks. As it was my first time I thought simmering it for the 20+ minutes was decarbing it. Next batch should be better now I know where I went wrong :-)

higher the temperature lesser time it requires. lower temperature more time. try to use small amounts before perfecting it.

Thanks all. Im in AUS and dont think many ppl here know the strains in such detail. At least not anywhere i can get from. I have heard alot mention trim, keif, etc. What do these mean and whats the best way to get the maximum cbd if this is the part i need? And no boymaker, ive never bought canna butter or oil. I would love to as it would save me doing it all but i have no clue where to even begin looking. Ill have to just do as you said above and use small amounts till i perfect it. :-)
