Hi all at RIU!

im a first time grower and have ALWAYS wanted to grow since i started smoking the stuff.
Recently iv been lowryder mad and think these strains are bloody wonderful! the fact it could possibly wipe all the danger from meeting dodgy dealers to then spend alot of money on some stuff thats going to kill me with all the crap sprayed on it, and the fact of small stealthy grows with not much worry that your not the best plant culteralist lol

So i recently got myself a cubboard, havnt got the measurements but its about up to my waist in height and wide enough for about 5 plants all in a line, the rubbish setup iv been using is 3 x 60watt house lamps (didnt have the funds for a pro setup) i have a oscilating fan in and an exhaust tube aswell as an intake.

The first lowryder seeds i put in a glass of water then straigt into a dark place for bout a day.. all germinated great and i had no problems with them. Currently im using MG potting soil and i must say that has gave me no problems what so ever including no nute burn on the seedlings. The first problem i found was that all my seedlings had stretched about an inch higher then they shud due to the fact i was worried the lamps would burn my lil fellows.

So to cut a long story short iv now only got the 1 plant as i ditched the others after looking at MANY great grow journals on here ready to make my grow room ten times better for a more yeilded grow. was wondering if someone could sex it for me, i know males create balls but dont the females aswell but kinda pear shape then the pistils come out them? or are balls jus clear straight males?

Tonight im installing my 2 125watt cfls and new organic soil in pots and nutes bought :weed:

BRING ON SECOND TRY!

all comments are greatly apreciated, im such a noob at this :hump:

P.S anyone seen a cheese x lowryder cross yet?

sweet will do, iv got at the moment 4 30watt cfl grow lights and iv kept the two side 60watt normal bulbs for budding because i heard they give off the red glow?? ive got about 12 normal red led's aswell jus to switch on in budding time.
looking to get some more 30 watt cfls but how many shud i have to get through a good veg stage to supply just myself with some bud? cant get 250watt at the moment :(

cool cool, il pop to my local lampwise and pick up another then :) il get some pics up tomoz, it is amazing the growth speed with cfls instead of normal lamps etc which iv noticed now :D, the fan leaves on my new baby ryders are much bigger then my nearly finished male which i grew with a few house lamps! lol

Okay so...the pics may not be too interesting to some but here are my two lowryders at day 5 from soil, the difference in size and colour of these ones to the ones i "wasted" before is massive! i dont know if it was the MG potting soil that was the main culpret or the lights that made my last grow with such tiny leaves, stunted growth and bright snot green in colour but it shows having a good read on these forums and taking in advise before starting is a MUST

quick question, one of the little ones i have noticed is a bit of a brighter green where new leaves are comin out compared to the other which is a real dark green in the center....also the one in the green pot has much fatter stubby leaves compared to the long thinish ones on the other...anyone think this could be a sativa + indica grow or jus different growth spurts with the two? lowryder was mainly indica right? or the other way round?

thanks all!

best of all to leave them to grow naturally, u dont want to try and stretch the plants trust once they begin flowering they pick up massive growth rate and they will grow upwards quickly lol. short and bushy is always the way to go lol.

k people im back after some long hard sitting and waiting and being patient and playing with nutes :D

heres the latest on my original lowryders, im only using 2 30watt warm white cfl's, one red 20watt cfl and another warm white but 22watt cfl, for budding i also have two 60watt normal house strip bulbs going up the side which i turn on for 12 hours each day for extra budding, this is one of the plants, hope you like ;)

the growth they ganied in flowering was imense! cudnt keep up with them and stopped the growing nutes cus thought theyd go through the roof of my grow box! lol im jus so hoping the buds pickup growth now tho, i know i only have cfl but there doing well and still growing (slowly) i would be happy with a Q of nice bud each plant, just about an 8th each so far. thankyou for all the advice i mean it!
