Newbie question about flowering/finishing times.

When a Breeder claims a flower time of say 8 weeks does that time start when you flip to 12/12 or do you start counting when the plant shows sex (1-2 weeks after switching 12/12)?

I take it from when they start flowering (1-2 weeks after switch) and even that is a minimum...

i always count from a week after i put them in 12/12

so realistically you should add say 2 weeks (I know there are allot of variablees that play into the final time) to whatever the breeders say ? and most of the people on forums that sat they harvested after 8 weeks are realistically harvesting after 10 weeks of 12/12 ?
