Newbie question

I’ve always been a soil grower but wanted to try a DWC grow this time.

So far everything is going great! It’s only been four days so far but it’s been real interesting trying something new and comparing it to a soil I planted at the same time.

So anyway, quick question. Is it normal to adjust ph so much? I adjust to 5.5-5.7 when I wake up, come home and it’s 6.3 or 6.4. Adjust it again and it’s right back in the low 6’s when I wake up. It’s not a huge issue to me, I was just curious if this was normal or what since everything is new, clean, and disinfected.

Thanks!

don't bother adjusting it when its between 5.5 to 6.5. its normal for ph to fluctuate due to temperatures.

how many gallons are you working with? In my experience when I start my plants in 5 gallon buckets it only has 3.5 gal of nutes and the air pump causes it to go up pretty quick. When i put them in my rdwc that is 25gal with no air stone/pump it is way more stable. I set a 5.5 and it takes days for it to drift past 6. So I guess depending on your set up yes it's normal lol

If you read some threads on hydro and follow the crowd and use common nutes they should be PH stable. Some of the lesser known nutes may not be. I don't trust PH meters anyway and my ph drop colors don't change too much so I rarely have to chase PH.

No grow diary. Didn’t want to do one and then something happens because of my inexperience with DWC and the plant dies..

As far as lights go, it’s currently under two HLG 100s. But I also have a double ended HID set.

most people think its about braging rights or some stupid shit like that. but its mostly sharing your style and mistakes soo the next grower can see it and say o i saw that before better fix it
